[Bug 858775] [NEW] gnome-keyring-daemon hogs CPU in Oneiric
Public bug reported: I just upgraded my Nokia Booklet to Oneiric, and noticed that gnome- keyring-daemon is using about 40% CPU all the time. Here's a snippet from strace: time(NULL) = 1316942473 times({tms_utime=10433, tms_stime=907, tms_cutime=112, tms_cstime=7}) = 1718106444 gettimeofday({1316942473, 940560}, NULL) = 0 getrusage(RUSAGE_SELF, {ru_utime={104, 338520}, ru_stime={9, 72567}, ...}) = 0 time(NULL) = 1316942473 times({tms_utime=10433, tms_stime=907, tms_cutime=112, tms_cstime=7}) = 1718106444 gettimeofday({1316942473, 941462}, NULL) = 0 getrusage(RUSAGE_SELF, {ru_utime={104, 338520}, ru_stime={9, 72567}, ...}) = 0 time(NULL) = 1316942473 times({tms_utime=10433, tms_stime=907, tms_cutime=112, tms_cstime=7}) = 1718106444 gettimeofday({1316942473, 942363}, NULL) = 0 getrusage(RUSAGE_SELF, {ru_utime={104, 338520}, ru_stime={9, 72567}, ...}) = 0 time(NULL) = 1316942473 times({tms_utime=10433, tms_stime=907, tms_cutime=112, tms_cstime=7}) = 1718106444 gettimeofday({1316942473, 943249}, NULL) = 0 getrusage(RUSAGE_SELF, {ru_utime={104, 342521}, ru_stime={9, 72567}, ...}) = 0 time(NULL) = 1316942473 times({tms_utime=10434, tms_stime=907, tms_cutime=112, tms_cstime=7}) = 1718106444 gettimeofday({1316942473, 944096}, NULL) = 0 getrusage(RUSAGE_SELF, {ru_utime={104, 342521}, ru_stime={9, 72567}, ...}) = 0 time(NULL) = 1316942473 times({tms_utime=10434, tms_stime=907, tms_cutime=112, tms_cstime=7}) = 1718106444 gettimeofday({1316942473, 944909}, NULL) = 0 getrusage(RUSAGE_SELF, {ru_utime={104, 342521}, ru_stime={9, 72567}, ...}) = 0 It seems to be spinning within dbus_connection_dispatch, I'll see if I can come up with a backtrace. gnome-keyring is version 3.1.92-0ubuntu1. The system differs from a normal Oneiric install in one regard: for some reason I can't get gdm to start on login, so it actually boots into a console and I "sudo start gdm" from there. [Bug 726021] [NEW] update-grub handles vg names with dashes incorrectly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: grub2 When update-grub is probing for bootable partitions from logical volumes, it creates incorrect menu entries if the volume group names have dashes in them. Apparently the parameter format for the "set root ='(vg-lv)'" should be exactly the same as the device node name in /dev/mapper, or /dev/mapper/vg-lv in the above case. However, for a volume group called "vg-0" having a logical volume "root", the dash gets sorta-escaped so that the mapper node path is /dev/mapper/vg--0-root; update-grub still puts '(vg-0-root)' as the root parameter however. This causes the menu entries to become unbootable, and if the grub configuration itself resides on such an lvm volume, the whole system becomes unbootable. ** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: lvm -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/726021 Title: update-grub handles vg names with dashes incorrectly -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 490811] Re: mesa-common-dev should depend on libdrm-dev
Actually it seems to be an issue in other scenarios as well: I couldn't get pkg-config to give me cflags or libs for one specific library, even though that library's dependencies were fully satisfied, and I was mystified until I tried running "pkg-config --list-all" and saw the error message pertaining to a missing drm.pc. [Bug 490811] [NEW] mesa-common-dev should depend on libdrm-dev
Public bug reported: In a fresh Karmic installation it is possible to get to the point where one has no broken packages but pkg-config fails with the message "Package libdrm was not found in the pkg-config search path...". This is due to /usr/lib/pkgconfig/dri.pc, installed by mesa-common-dev, having the line Requires.private: libdrm >= 2.4.3 but mesa-common-dev does not depend on libdrm-dev, which is the package that installs /usr/lib/pkgconfig/libdrm.pc.
