[Bug 801988] Re: [Acer W500] multitouch doesn't work
No change for me on Dell st220t. The device still doesn't work without patch, And with the patch under Unity Precise, i still : - can't touch-click on windows title bar (so can't move windows with touch), - loose any clic (mouse and touch) as soon as i do a drag or flick (so i must restart lightdm in tty1). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/801988 Title: [Acer W500] multitouch doesn't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/utouch/+bug/801988/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

With patch https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/791833/+attachment/2680972/+files/0001-HID-multitouch-fix-handling-of-buggy-reports-descrip.patch Or http://lii-enac.fr/en/architecture/linux-input/multitouch-ubuntu-howto.html (Thanks Benjamin Tissoires !) Touchscreen works ok in Unity(Oneiric) and not so bad in Gnome(Precise), But in Unity(Precise), which i'm using, i'm LOOSING ANY CLIC FUNCTIONALITY (mouse & touch) after few touchs (seemly drag ??). PERFECT ! @Benjamin Tissoires : Hudges thanks ! Didn't test much about multipoint and right clic, but the device is well recognised, i got clic functionality and can now use onboard !! ( I have now a pretty nice & easy desktop for MAO, sweet !! :p ) Sorry for late reply, just some problems last days. @L Jackson : There's surely an easiest and shortest way (building only needed module), but i compiled my kernel after patching the source with : patch -p1 --dry-run < /[path_of_patch]/0001-HID-multitouch-fix-handling-of-buggy-reports-descrip.patch at the root of the kernel source, removing the option "--dry-run" if no error is reported to apply it really. Hope it helps. Re: [Bug 430809] Re: [Dell Latitude D430, iwl3945] Wireless can't be activated after disabling kill switch
Hello, I have been having problems with my wifi-card and rfkill, I opened bug 435141. Maybe, this bug is related so I have tried the patch, I have a dell e4300 with an interl 53000 AGN. I attach the results of testing the patch with hardware switch on and off. In both cases the result is the same: If hardware switch on: rfkill list 1: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: no 2: hci0: Bluetooth Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: no If hardware switch off: rfkill list 1: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: yes My wifi is always disabled by software, I have to enable it manually. However, with a fresh install of Karmic Alpha 6 it worked perfectly. I would appreciate some feedback if it would be possible, I don't want to introduce noise in a bug not related with me. Maybe is with something related with rfkill but not rfkill itself. Let me know if you need more info. Hello, I have a dell e4300 with a wifi 5300 AGN CARD. After upgrading from Jaunty to Karmic Alpha6 my wifi card starts always disabled because although my hardware switch is enabled, rfkill does not detect it and it disables the wifi by software (if i do a fresh install of Karmic Alpha 6 works !!!). I have tested the patched kernel and now the problem with the rfkill is solved but the interface is not detected as a wireless one: iwconfig lono wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. wlan0 no wireless extensions. vboxnet0 no wireless extensions. pan0 no wireless extensions. Therefore, there is some cross-relation isssue among your patch and mi wifi card. [Bug 64078] rights problem !!
Public bug reported: i just installed (5.10.2006) edgy. everything seems to work perfectly, BUT if i try to create a new document on the desktop or in my /home/user folder, i can read a nice "Vous n'avez pas la permission d'écrire dans la destination" !! but i can create a folder ! hmm .. More, when i try to "set time and date" an non-less beautiful "You are not allowed to access the system configuration" is displayed .. even if sudo is well configured. "sudo chown isi.isi /home/isi" and "sudo chmod -R 755 /home/isi" did not help .. perhaps is there a link: i installed ubuntu without installing grub, using the debian's one (installed on an other partition) and i don't have the splashscreen during boot (and even if i should see it, i prefer without, but that's a personal point of view ...) does all this things related to partition uuid ??? Thanks for help. ubuntu is a pretty nice desktop-ready linux distribution !!! ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- rights problem !! https://launchpad.net/bugs/64078 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
