Hi James, I think this is a generic issue for all platforms. With AMD graphics card and fglrx driver, this problem can be easily reproduced with steps below: - connect two monitors to the graphics card - install the fglrx driver - run aticonfig --initial=dual-head -f (two screen sections will be specified in xorg.conf) - restart X - there is no window manager on the second screen, and the display is totally white for the second screen (LP#885989, this issue can be workarounded by kill the nautilus process) BTW, DISPLAY=:0.1 compiz can be used to launch compiz on the second screen. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/885991 Title: no window manager on second screen for dual head mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/885991/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1068404]
Stefan, The new issue is caused by Intel driver change to map the GTT aperture (bottom half of BAR 1) as WC, while the top half of BAR1 is still Un- Cacheable. Then the conflict happens when fglrx driver maps the whole BAR1 of Intel IGP device. We have already prepared a fix for this, which should be available in Catalyst 13.3. As a workaround before that, I think you can do some change in Intel graphics driver to map GTT aperture as Un-Cacheable. Re: [Bug 833549] Re: Severe screen corruption after rotate the screen
After rotate the screen, the calling sequence in compiz is as following: PrivateScreen::configure - PrivateScreen::reshape - PrivateScreen::detectOutputDevices - PrivateScreen::updateOutputDevices In updateOutputDevices, screen-width() and screen-height() are reversed, which caused the problem. It seems a compiz problem that only the desktop width is updated in compiz, but the desktop height is not updated after rotate. Following steps can simplify the problem. - boot the system in text mode - run X in remote terminal - disable unity plugin in ccsm - start compiz in remote terminal - run xterm in remote terminal, and maximize xterm - run xrandr --output xxx --rotate left in remote terminal, we can see that the screen is rotated, and the right part of the screen is totally black (with width of original screen width - original screen height) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/833549 Title: Severe screen corruption after rotate the screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/833549/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 705689] Re: Qt applications crash with segfault error on armel when Qt is built with gcc 4.5 on natty
I think I met a similar problem as mentioned in this thread. What I do: - use linaro image with toolchain Ubuntu/Linaro 4.5.2-3ubuntu2 on imx51 - apply the IT patch, and build latest mainline qt locally on imx51 with gles2 enabled (-opengl es2) - when run qtdemo and some other qt examples, segfault happens (not all qt application crashed, such as hellogl_es2) But after I replace some qt libraries with debug version (libQtCore, libQtGui, libQtNetwork and libQtScript), the crash disappeared. So I compared the release version and debug version libraries, it seems that there is unpredictable branch in the IT block for release version, but debug version doesn't have that, which is quite strange for me. Take libQtScript for example: For release version: root@localhost:/mnt/qt-kde# objdump -d libQtScript.so.4.8.0 |grep unpredictable c6cfc: 4770bxlelr ; unpredictable branch in IT block cf608: bf48it mi ; unpredictable IT:hi For debug version: (with -debug configure option when build qt) root@localhost:/mnt/qt-kde/build/lib# objdump -d libQtScript.so.4.8.0 |grep unpredictable root@localhost:/mnt/qt-kde/build/lib# -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to qt4-x11 in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/705689 Title: Qt applications crash with segfault error on armel when Qt is built with gcc 4.5 on natty -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
