[Bug 1698261]
(In reply to Hans Leidekker from comment #38) > (In reply to robert.roth.off from comment #37) > > > Is this also Fedora 34? > > > > Yes, this is also Fedora 34, but the issue happened also on Fedora 33 with > > wine staging. > > Might be related to the switch to systemd-resolved in Fedora 33 then. Definitely was caused by that, as disabling systemd-resolved did solve the long waits. It also explains why Ubuntu had this since quite a long time, as they switched to systemd-resolved about 3 years ago, in 16.10. That explains why someone mentioned in a comment that 16.04 doesn't have the issue, and 17.04 has this issue. I still can't connect to any battle net servers, which I will need to investigate and probably report separately (unless it was fixed by other bugfix, I saw some recent changes related to battle net games in wine), but at least the resources are loaded quickly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1698261 Title: Wine Regression in 17.04 Ubuntu, 16.04 works To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/wine/+bug/1698261/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

After having the same issue as described here, and also having the wpad DNS query taking 3843 msec (dig wpad output below) I am also available for providing any more information to get this investigated, maybe having the logs from someone else too will help narrowing the issue down. I have also tried adding wpad to /etc/hosts as 127.0.0.1 as suggested in workaround by arilou, but that broke multiplayer of Starcraft completely for me, so removed them. ; <<>> DiG 9.16.15-RH <<>> wpad ;; global options: +cmd ;; Got answer: ;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NXDOMAIN, id: 31665 ;; flags: qr aa rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 0, AUTHORITY: 0, ADDITIONAL: 1 ;; OPT PSEUDOSECTION: ; EDNS: version: 0, flags:; udp: 65494 ;; QUESTION SECTION: ;wpad. [Bug 1921583] Re: Can't run System Monitor in Ubuntu Unity 21.04
@seb128, the crash in my opinion is not related to the theme, but rather the same as reported upstream https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome- system-monitor/-/issues/182, coming from the migration to LibHandy, on non-GNOME environments. [Bug 1778361] Re: The Processes tab only displays the current user's processes
That's weird indeed. It's hard to believe that it's an UI issue, as I haven't seen that and don't see that on Fedora. Could it be related to dconf setting not being stored and the filters being reloaded a second later from dconf? I did see some other reports of settings not being saved, which would support this conspiracy theory. Unfortunately I don't have an Ubuntu devel machine, will try to set up a VM and investigate there, unless anyone has a better idea and can give me some pointers on how to reproduce. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1778361 Title: The Processes tab only displays the current user's processes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-monitor/+bug/1778361/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). This has been fixed upstream, in System Monitor 3.10.0, released in 2013, but the fix didn't make it into Trusty, being an LTS release, and the System Monitor 3.10 release having some UI changes (including a headerbar) which have been rejected for inclusion to have a stable application set in the LTS. It's not clear yet whether Ubuntu will accept apps with headerbar for Utopic. Based on an IRC discussion, developers are working on better experience and integration between headerbars and Unity, so it might happen. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1325776 Title: add --version argument To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-system-monitor/+bug/1325776/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

As system monitor doesn't have a taskbar mode, I assume this will be a bug in another application, but I'm not sure which one it is, and a screenshot would help me to reassign to the correct product. Yes, that's an issue fixed upstream, however Ubuntu still uses an older version, and probably won't get upgraded to the current stable release in the next cycle either, so unless someone's willing to backport the patch, this won't change. [Bug 1093582] Re: gnome-system-monitor display without grid
@Sebastian: Yes, System Monitor has been updated along with the other applications to fit in the GNOME ecosystem with headerbars, which is a 3.10 feature, and requires gtk 3.10. I have been looking at what could be easily backported, but system monitor has undergone some refactorings this cycle too, so changes are not too easily backported. I will take some more time and to pick the best bugfixes and the ones which also appear in launchpad and can be ported easily, and come up with a system monitor ubuntu package update featuring those ones. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1093582 Title: gnome-system-monitor display without grid To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-system-monitor/+bug/1093582/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1093582] Re: gnome-system-monitor display without grid
@Sebastian: I have checked from the system monitor git repo log what would be worth porting, and there's not much worth porting, basically the fix for this bug and another one for a wording change in bug #1156238. The other ones, some performance improvements and memory leak fixes are also interesting, but as these happened after serious refactorings, they can not be easily ported. With the ones I have mentioned I have created a branch with new patches for it in /debian/patches, unfortunately bzr builddeb fails with some strange error, looks like it wants to revert the fix for the graph grid rendering issue based on the upstream 3.8.2.1. [Bug 1201229] Re: Should be a choice for one graph on multicore CPUs
Which version of gnome-system-monitor are you running? You can check it in the menu by clicking Help-About. The 3.8 version has an option in Edit-Preferences-Resources tab to draw a stacked area chart. Toggling that option maybe shows what you would like to see, with a twist: all core usages are shown on one graph, but summed up as a stacked area chart, so that you can see how each core contributes to the total usage, but you can also see the total usage. [Bug 1085615] Re: Open state of the description pane is not remembered
According to the specification [1]: Below the list of updates should be another expander, “Technical description”, which is always collapsed initially. So I would say this is according to the design, although I don't understand the rationale, and can't find it described anywhere. I agree that the description expanded state could be remembered, as non- technical users usually won't expand that, and if they do and they see that at each start it's expanded, they'll collapse it, and technical users' preference will be remembered. [Bug 1192489] Re: se toolkit not working properly
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! ** Changed in: update-manager (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1192489 Title: se toolkit not working properly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/1192489/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
