[Bug 1890956] Re: [Gateway NE722] Mouse and keyboard stop working after suspend

2020-11-24 Thread Trevor Schauls
I installed kubuntu-desktop and removed ubuntu-desktop. The SDDM and KDE
combo doesn't freeze on suspend. I can install lightdm and see if the
problemm returns.

[Bug 1890956] Re: [Gateway NE722] Mouse and keyboard stop working after suspend

2020-08-11 Thread Trevor Schauls
I tried suspend with the latest kernel (5.8) and the input freeze still
happened. Suspend works on the Windows 10 partition. I could boot up a
different distro's live usb or install a different desktop manager and
see if the problem is with the kernel or something higher up.

  Description: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS

Booting off of a live usb, the trackpad, external mouse, and internal
keyboard stop responding to input after suspend. On my updated install,
the laptop trackpad works, but the other two inputs do not after
suspend/wake. I can log in using the on screen keyboard. Unplugging the
mouse and plugging it in does not fix it. The inputs don't respond while
logged in either. Only a reboot fixes it.

[Bug 1890956] [NEW] Mouse and keyboard stop working after suspend

2020-08-09 Thread Trevor Schauls
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS
Release:20.04
dm3:
  Installed: 3.34.1-1ubuntu1
  Candidate: 3.34.1-1ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 3.34.1-1ubuntu1 500
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Booting off of a live usb, the trackpad, external mouse, and internal
keyboard stop responding to input after suspend. On my updated install,
the laptop trackpad works, but the other two inputs do not after
suspend/wake. I can log in using the on screen keyboard. Unplugging the
mouse and plugging it in does not fix it. The inputs don't respond while
logged in either. Only a reboot fixes it.

[Bug 248398] Re: Firefox crashes on a page.

2008-07-15 Thread Trevor Schauls
This "bug" is 100% reproducible. 1st, open
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopTeam/Specs/GdmFaceBrowser in a new tab.
Next, open http://people.ubuntu.com/~mmueller/login-experience-
mockup.ogg in a new tab. Make sure no other tabs are open, except the
two. Go to the login-experience-mockup.ogg tab and try to close any tab.

This bug is not reproducible in safe mode.

You must have macromedia flash 10, OPEN JDK Java, adblock plus, and the
Totem plugins installed for this to occur.

Cannot get a backtrace.

Mark as "low" or "Won't Fix"

PS. Please Fix!

[Bug 197452] Re: gnome-sound-recorder does not start with usb mike

2008-04-13 Thread Trevor Schauls
I have done more testing and concluded these things:
1. This affects ALL USB microphones
2.The error is caused by having no default mixer for the device (pulled from an
old version of wine)

I do not know how to fix this. Any help would be appreciated. This
microphone also doesn't work with wine. I believe it will work with OSS,
but not ALSA.

[Bug 173312] Re: Ubuntu should use OpenDNS as the default DNS servers

2007-12-01 Thread Trevor Schauls
Ubuntu has a problem with IPV4 which is the technology the Qwest Actiontec
routers use for the DNS. If I try to set the
DNS on the router, It still uses the IPV4 DNS. If I set it in Ubuntu, it workes
untill the screensaver is activated, then I have to enter in the DNS Servers
again. It appears to only happen on the older routers. So I've been suggesting
to eather get comcast cable internet, or spend $80-$100 dollers for a new
router. The Qwest updates also fix this issue. You can also disable IPV6. I am
not sure this issue exists anymore. To test, try in Feisty and Gutsy.

[Bug 173312] Ubuntu should use OpenDNS as the default DNS servers

2007-12-01 Thread Trevor Schauls
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu has had a problem with Qwest routers for some time. If Ubuntu set
the dns servers 208.67.222.222, and 208.67.220.220, this problem would
be gone. These dns servers are much faster then the default ones. The
website is http://opendns.com/. I am not quite sure why it fixes it, but
I believe it has to do with IPV4 and IPV6.

[Bug 159677] Re: Multiple bugs and wishlists

2007-11-23 Thread Trevor Schauls
The most important problems in my opinion:
The package spamassassin should be a dependency of Evolution Mail because
it's the default spam filter. The package alsa-oss should be a dependency of
wine because some wine programs require oss and alsa-oss would fill the void.
The firestarter package is needed because most people need a GUI on a firewall
to feel protected. Gocr should be a dependency of xsane because it needs this
program to save text files.

Allow any user to eject a cd. ex. User "Bob" wants to listen to some music.
But user "Jill" left her cd in. So "Bob presses the button on the cd drive.
Confused he right clicks the cd and says eject, only to find a "scary" error
message .

Auto dpkg repair when it is interupted (auto-run gksudo "dpkg --configure
-A") You can't believe how many calls I get on this!

FreeDOS boot disk creator ( for BIOS flashing and such )

totem-gstreamer support for DVDs and VCDs with menus

   Mouse extra button detection

   Auto encrypted DVD installer

Use OpenDNS servers as the default DNS servers.

Less important (in my opinion):
  Everything except above, 7, 14, 15, 18, 19, and 26.

I strongly believe however, that one media manager would cause less
confusion and bugs.

Notes:
   Please disregard the bugs section.

I do realize that some are unreasonable. I myself have a hard time
sorting what I want. I also realize some things are already being worked
out.

I can not do all the bug reports by myself. Some help would be
appreciated. Sort through what you want and post. Then we can work out
what each of us will do.

[Bug 163190] Re: Please add zd1201 driver to Ubuntu

2007-11-16 Thread Trevor Schauls
** Description changed:

The zd1201 driver is used in many older wireless cards. I would really
- like this driver to be in included in Ubuntu. This driver also causes a
- kernel panic in Ubuntu 7.10. It would also be nice to not have this
- happen. The driver is listed below.

[Bug 129850] Re: Major CD mount issue - affects Nautilus!

2007-11-16 Thread Trevor Schauls
I have the same type of cd burner and I have the same problem. A blank
cd appears as "CD-ROM Disk". This is a problem with Ubuntu, not the
drive. I will be glad to help.
