[Bug 391114] Re: [karmic]snd_hda_intel: audio moves to polling mode and starts repeating (Toshiba A100-259/ATI IXP SB4x0 HD/ALC861)
Running Ubuntu 9.04 with all updates. Laptop is a Toshiba A100-742. Same Chipset and audio card (attached lspci) and exact same problem. Audio work for some time and then stop working. Sometimes audio stop working after just a few second from the startup sound, sometimes I can watch something for 1-2 or more hour before it goes down. The audio loop Audio did work properly on ubuntu 8.04, didn't work well on ubuntu 8.10 either. A bit off topic but this laptop is a real nightmare on Linux... wired network fail after heavy transfer, USB is slow and fail (the chipset is notorious for it's slow USB even on WIndows, so it's partially an hardware problem, still USB that stop completely working on Linux is bad) ** Attachment added: "lspci.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/29168375/lspci.txt -- [karmic]snd_hda_intel: audio moves to polling mode and starts repeating (Toshiba A100-259/ATI IXP SB4x0 HD/ALC861) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/391114 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 291863] [NEW] [Intrepid] Connecting to SSH server with Nautilus. Can't transfer file because "free space: 0 bytes" (gvfs bug ?)
Public bug reported: I have got problem transferring file to an SSH server using Nautilus. (running Ubuntu 8.10) I've testing the folowing on two ssh server. Connecting to the server in the following way: Place > Connect to server > "Service type" = "SSH" Once I am logged in to the server (entered the password / public key authentication...) I get a nautilus window for exemple: "/home/user/.gvfs/sftp on 192.168.1.x/" I can transfer file from the server to my computer fine but I can't copy anyhing to the server. I get the following error: "There is not enough space on the destination. Try to remove files to make space." Note that in the nautilus status bar I've got "Free space: 0 bytes" There actually is enough place on the server and permission are ok too. I can even created a file on the server and then fill it up with text without a problem. As a matter of fact I can transfer the same file to to same directory just fine if I use the following method: -Use nautilus to manually access "sftp://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/" Then the file copy fine. I noticed there is not "Free space: " in the status when using this second method to access the server. Hope my explanation was clear enough. Seem like a pretty annoying bug to me. [Bug 204735] [NEW] Software source - Download from
Public bug reported: While it might not be very important I believe there is a inconsistency problem in "Software sources" (System > administration > software sources) and more precisely in the "Download from" drop-down list *Explanation: I installed Ubuntu in English (localization: US English) and chose Japan for my location. By default (after install) the "Download from" drop-down list contains: -Main server -Server for US -Server for Japan -Other and the default choice is "Server for Japan" which seems totally logical. (server in the country where the user is located) *Problem Now if I happen to manually select a server ("Other..." > the user select a server or choose "Select best server") The drop-down list changes to: -Main server -Server for US -*Server I selected* -Other Note that "Server for Japan" as disappeared from the list !! I find this confusing. There seem to be no way to select that option afterwards. It think that: -Only the geographic position in relevant to the choice of server. Therefore even if my default language is set to "US English", "Server for United States" should not appear, but only "server for x" (x being the country of the user location*) (Note that the default setting is relevant though.) *I imagine there aren't server for all the country so a relevant decision should be taken it the case from the user country. I don't know how it is handles right now. -You should be able to select "server for x" x being any country where server are available. [Bug 66104] Re: [Gutsy] scim: input freezes in various applications under XIM mode
I can confirm this on Gusty. Installation from live cd with Japanese as langauge. I nearly immediately found the bug while editing some folder's name in nautilus. (impossible to input test / have the close the application for it to work again) I used the "set /FrontEnd/X11/Dynamic option to true" hack and haven't experience this problem since. I just can't help to think something is really wrong when there is such a obvious problem (which for me pop up directly after installing) and nothing is being done about it... there has to be some real lack of support for that input system / japanese version of Ubuntu. And I don't know what the exact criteria are for the importance of Ubuntu's bug but " Medium" seems completely inappropriate IMO -- [Gutsy] scim: input freezes in various applications under XIM mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/66104 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
