[Bug 796188] Re: Feature Request: Tool: Save screenshot of area to clipboard
Thank you all for your feedback. Sebastien Bacher: I just found out that selective screenshots can be taken via the native screenshot application in Ubuntu, therefore marking this bug as invalid is acceptable and I can see your reasons for this. I filed this feature request about two years ago while using Ubuntu 11.04 and I am quite sure that in the last years this feature was not implemented in the native screenshot application, which made me install and use "shutter". -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/796188 Title: Feature Request: Tool: Save screenshot of area to clipboard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/evince/+bug/796188/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1164016] Re: restore type-ahead find
Adam Dingle: Thanks for clarifying that this issue has not been intended by the nautilus developers. Anyway, this bug affects me a lot and I cannot believe that of all people working at/for Ubuntu, nobody ran into this issue. It is very striking and totally kills directory navigation as I am used to. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1164016 Title: restore type-ahead find To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/1164016/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1173110] [NEW] Xorg crash
Public bug reported: I suppose that after the latest update of xserver-xorg on my Ubuntu 12.10, it somehow introduced a bug which stops me from reaching unity. The screen gets black after successful login, then some console output appears, then the nvidia logo, and then I am presented with the login screen again. [Bug 796188] [NEW] Feature Request: Tool: Save screenshot of area to clipboard
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince I'm curious whether it's possible to add a feature to evince which allows the user the following: 1. select the screenshot tool 2. select a specific area of the document with your mouse (a rectangle: press to start selection and release mouse button when finished) 3. the selected area will be saved to the clipboard as an image which can be pasted e.g. in Openoffice.org Writer or comparable office software I'm inquiring about this feature because I know it from Acrobat Reader and it's the last feature that's keeping me from uninstalling Acrobat. I know a lot of people at university who use this tool on a regular basis when creating summaries of lectures. It's a very pleasant way to copy & paste important parts of PDF documents, mainly diagrams and illustrations and imo this won't be too much of a hassle to implement. I attached a screenshot of the desired functionality as observed while using Acrobat Reader. I hope this clears it up a bit. ** Affects: evince (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: feature request screenshot tool -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/796188 Title: Feature Request: Tool: Save screenshot of area to clipboard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/796188/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 566887] [NEW] network printer + DNSSD + External DNS server -> won't print
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cups My setup: - Home LAN - my box: Ubuntu Lucid x64, eth0 is standard interface with DNS set to 8.8.8.8 (Google) and not to our local router - Samsung ML-2850D (network printer) Problem: - Printer is shown active in the printer overview, but doesn't print - printing jobs fail with "dnssd error", even though everything worked out of the box before upgrading to Lucid My workaround: in /etc/cups/printers.conf, replace entry: > DeviceURI dnssd://Photosmart%208400%20series%20(D29CFB)._pdl-datastream._tcp.local/ with > DeviceURI socket://192.168.178.107:9100 I'm not using a Photosmart printer of course, but the dnssd://-entry looked nearly the comparable. After I replaced the DeviceURI entry with the socket://-Adress and the local IP Address of my printer, everything worked fine. My question: Why did this error occur in the first place - I recall that before upgrading to Lucid, I never read anything about dnssd in cups and underneath my printer the ip address was shown? During my research I found out about a couple of topics on ubuntu- related forums which addressed the same topic so it seems like a bug and not a mistake on my side. Is it possible, that the external DNS server is influencing the dnssd in some bogus way?
