Elias, in you comment #175 you didn't wrote which version of Firefox you had when you run it for the first time. Also, have you noticed that if you make a change in Regional Formats in System Settings > Language > Language Support > Regional Formats the change takes effect the next time you log in (see my comment #172). [Bug 10910] Re: Default page size for printing is letter
I've tested Firefox 41 on Ubuntu 15.04 and I'd say that the issue has been fixed. Here is the test procedure: (1) Check your Regional Formats in System Settings > Language > Language Support > Regional Formats. Let's say this option is set to "English (United Kingdom)" (if you change it, the change takes effect the next time you log in). That option will change the environment variables for various locale categories including LC_PAPER. (2) Start Firefox with default user settings. You can do it by running "firefox -P" and creating a new user profile. (3) Try to print (Ctrl+P). On the Page Setup tab you get "Paper size: A4". I get this result even without step (2). If the Regional Formats are set to "English (United States)" then you get "Paper Size: US Letter". You can also test this without changing Regional Formats: in the Terminal Window run the following commands and check the paper size as in step (3) above: LC_PAPER=en_GB.UTF-8 firefox LC_PAPER=en_US.UTF-8 firefox -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/10910 Title: Default page size for printing is letter To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/10910/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 657990] Re: System freeze when i'am not moving the mouse or typing.
Romain, I'd sas that for additional troubleshooting the issue the following article may give you some hints: http://linoxide.com/how-tos/cpu-bottleneck-linux/ You should have the following packages installed: procps and sysstat. First, maximize the terminal window. Then run vmstat and mpstat for a while to see CPU usage, e.g.: $ vmstat 2 5 $ mpstat 2 5 If you see high %irq you can use the following command to find out which interrupt number is the culprit: $ sar -I XALL 2 1 | less And the following command shows the recorded number of interrupts per CPU per IO device: $ cat /proc/interrupts which is useful to find out which IO device uses the interrupt (see more in proc(5) man page). -- rpr. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/657990 Title: System freeze when i'am not moving the mouse or typing. At some point I can no longer Paste Special the text copied from an external source, e.g. web page opened in Firefox, while the Paste function still works. [Bug 1026426] Re: LibreOffice Unity integration - opening an .odt file from dash or nautilus should yield correct icon and allow switching between the subsequently opened LO windows
Murakami, is the LibreOffice installed from Ubuntu repository or from the deb file downloaded from https://www.libreoffice.org/download ? Please, run the following in a terminal: which soffice If you get /usr/bin/soffice then you have LibreOffice from Ubuntu repository. If you get a path starting with /opt then you have LibreOffice installed from https://www.libreoffice.org/download (which is also a common scenario as Linux users want to have the latest LibreOffice as soon as possible). LibreOffice Unity integration should work correctly in both cases. I wonder if developers tested BAMF (and possible other components) with both LibreOffice installation scenarios. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1026426 Title: LibreOffice Unity integration - opening an .odt file from dash or nautilus should yield correct icon and allow switching between the subsequently opened LO windows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bamf/+bug/1026426/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 210686]
As a workaround for this issue I inserted a paragraph before the table and formatted the text in the paragraph as hidden. Then tried to use Select All. It selects all text only if the hidden text is visible, which is enabled in Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > Formatting Aids > Display of Hidden text. If that option is not enabled the Select All selects only the table, which is strange (another bug?). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210686 Title: [Upstream] [hardy] Writer "Select All" only highlights table in .doc To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/210686/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 210686]
Users who have at least intermediate computer skills would expect that the Select All action selects all content of a document they are editing/viewing in a GUI application. That is a standard across wide range of applications. If it is broken in LibreOffice Writer because some of its developers decided to use certain document model (a defective model I'd say) then AT LEAST the LibreOffice Help should contain a note about this issue. Currently, the LibreOffice Help says the following in Text Documents > Command and Menu Reference > Menus > Edit: Select All Selects the entire content of the current file, frame, or text object. What does the "text object" means? I'd suggest expanding this description so that it is in accordance with the actual functionality of this command especially regarding the case when a document begins with a table. Also, I see that Select All doesn't include inserted frames.

@rg That's why I moved from Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit to Linux Mint with Cinnamon. Although the Unity is a good idea, its implementation is broken. After years of development it still has annoying bugs, like this one. @photonic (#147) I'd say this behavior is expected (I see it also on Ubuntu 12.04 with bamf 0.2.118-0ubuntu0.3). Probably, it's because all LibreOffice applications actually use one executable: /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin Try to invoke the following commands (one at a time) from the command line and watch the icon that appears on the Launcher: /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin & /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin --writer & /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin --calc & /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin --impress & /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin /usr/lib/libreoffice/CREDITS.odt & The first command (soffice.bin without arguments) gives white (generic) LibO icon while the other commands give the icon corresponding to the LibO application opened.

The windows are shown in the following order: Nautilus, Writer, USC, Firefox (left to right, top to bottom) (3) Click Writer and then press Super+W again. Now the windows are shown in the following order: Writer, USC, Nautilus, Firefox (4) Click USC and then press Super+W again. Now the windows are shown in the following order: USC, Nautilus, Writer, Firefox (5) Click Nautilus and then press Super+W again. Now the windows are shown in the following order: Nautilus, Writer, USC, Firefox This example shows that scale plugin changes positions of scaled windows as they are picked by the user. This is probably by design but I'd say that such reordering of windows is counter-intuitive and confusing because the user has to visually search through all windows in order to find the right one to click. I'd suggest adding an option to change that behavior so that scaled windows do not change their positions. Now, the game is running without changing the screen resolution (the desktop is visible behind the game window) but you can't move the mouse pointer outside the game window. [Bug 872114] Re: Yelp causes 100% CPU usage
I can reproduce this bug on Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit with yelp 3.4.1-0ubuntu1.The test machine has a quad-core 3.2 GHz AMD Phenom II and when the bug occurs one of the cores constantly runs at 100% until closing yelp (tested for 10+ minutes). [Bug 802186] [NEW] after boot X server crashes (segmentation fault) with blank screen
Public bug reported: On a system with a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4350 512MB DDR2 PCI-E HDMI/DVI-I/VGA card I upgraded from Ubuntu Desktop 10.10 64-bit (with Linux 2.6.35-30-generic #54-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 7 18:41:54 UTC 2011 x86_64) to Ubuntu Desktop 11.04 64-bit with Linux 2.6.38-10-generic #44-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 2 21:32:22 UTC 2011 x86_64. After selecting standard boot in the GRUB menu, I regularly get the blank screen and I'm not able to log in. If I select the recovery mode in the GRUB menu, I am able to choose failsafeX and to log in to a GDM session. Near the end of /var/log/Xorg.0.log I found: Backtrace: [18.246] 0: /usr/bin/X (xorg_backtrace+0x26) [0x4a2656] [18.246] 1: /usr/bin/X (0x40+0x621ca) [0x4621ca] [18.246] 2: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpthread.so.0 (0x7f13082db000+0xfc60) [0x7f13082eac60] [18.246] 3: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/radeon_drv.so (0x7f1305161000+0xd23fd) [0x7f13052333fd] [18.246] 4: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/radeon_drv.so (0x7f1305161000+0xd465f) [0x7f130523565f] [18.246] 5: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/radeon_drv.so (0x7f1305161000+0x8586e) [0x7f13051e686e] [18.246] 6: /usr/bin/X (xf86SetDesiredModes+0x1e3) [0x48c7d3] [18.246] 7: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/radeon_drv.so (0x7f1305161000+0x44dd5) [0x7f13051a5dd5] [18.246] 8: /usr/bin/X (AddScreen+0x1a8) [0x42e658] [18.246] 9: /usr/bin/X (InitOutput+0x294) [0x470094] [18.246] 10: /usr/bin/X (0x40+0x218c3) [0x4218c3] [18.246] 11: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 (__libc_start_main+0xff) [0x7f1307224eff] [18.246] 12: /usr/bin/X (0x40+0x21629) [0x421629] [18.246] Segmentation fault at address 0x1b0 [18.246] Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault). Server aborting Booting to the earlier version of Linux (2.6.35-30) does not help. I would appreciate very much a quick solution or workaround as otherwise I would need to revert to Ubuntu 10.10. ** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/802186 Title: after boot X server crashes (segmentation fault) with blank screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/802186/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
