[Bug 147031] Re: (Gutsy beta) X server broken upon startup
I have the same kind of problem since a gutsy upgrade this morning (30/09/2007). I was already in gutsy after a migration from festy a few days ago. After waiting a few minutes I have to kill the X server because it seems to doesn't start. I attached my xorg.log. ** Attachment added: Xorg.0.log http://launchpadlibrarian.net/9604587/Xorg.0.log -- (Gutsy beta) X server broken upon startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147031 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Checkout Bug #144297 Maybe the same bug. It offers a fix you could try. -- (Gutsy beta) X server broken upon startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147031 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 147031] Re: (Gutsy beta) X server broken upon startup
Thanks. I just tried a sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg and it reworks. It puts a driver ati in the device section of my xorg.conf in place of the radeon. If I put radeon again, it continues to work but I lost 500FPS in glxgears. -- (Gutsy beta) X server broken upon startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147031 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
