[Bug 625402] Re: Dell E6510 with NVIDIA: Kernel panics after switching video output
Jeremy, in the meantime, I had installed Ubuntu 10.10 as a test because 10.04 wasn't usable for me due to the mentioned bug above. With the current development version of Ubuntu 10.10 there are no kernel panics anymore. (However, the system sometimes has difficulties to recognize the external display during boot and the Fn-F8 behaviour (producing super-p) reported elsewhere is a nuisance.) As linux-2.6.35-22 doesn't show my reported error anymore, I don't know what to do with the "needs-upstream-testing" flag. [Bug 625402] Re: Dell E6510 with NVIDIA: Kernel panics after switching video output
Hi Marc, If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. [This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.] ** Tags added: kj-triage ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- Dell E6510 with NVIDIA: Kernel panics after switching video output https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/625402 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
