[Bug 1851170] Re: GRUB2 version over 19 all bugs and don't want to start
Bug reports are about finding problems to solve them so in the future other people do not go through the problems you have experienced. The are NOT intended for support. You have made very clear that your problem is serious, where I'd again suggest seeking support, a number of suggestions can be found at the link https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1851170 Title: GRUB2 version over 19 all bugs and don't want to start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1851170/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1851170] Re: GRUB2 version over 19 all bugs and don't want to start
Dear Chris Please find my explanation as a bug to the support team as requested by you I have downloaded a fresh 19.10 system from Ubuntu centre and loaded into an USB ram memory Near the end of the process, the system did not finish the upgrading, sent errors and asked to reboot I rebooted and the automatic updates told me to finish the updates as the no-unstalled packages were already loaded I had problem with the video as it was playing psychedelically in the web browsers I was on version 19 only Then I reboot three times my computer while the upgrade manager asked me to install more packages The new version came up to 18, 31 and 32. Then the system did not want to start the new version 32 and the I manually started the version 19 The system started ok But when I rebooted my computer again, all the versions show the same bug I tried to report the bug to Ubuntu before it crashed completely but was denied by returned e-mail it was a bug My display manager is GDM3 rather than GNOME I have the following message from the boot Gave up waiting for suspend/resume device done Gave up waiting for root file system device Common problems: - Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline) - Check root delay: (did the system wait long enough? - Missing modules (cat/proc/modules; ls /dev) Alert UUID = c4337349-c916-4c92-bdac-bf81cb490b1a does not exist. Dropping a shell! Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands (initramfs) from Linux 5.0.0.0-18, 19, 31 to 32 Then it is doing line by line turninng around on USB device settings for ever I am now on my dual boot with Window 10 as OS to make this report Please tell me what to do as it is very serious and have never experimented such problems like this one on Linux before I have been using Linux from the University at the first lauch of the system until today. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1851170 Title: GRUB2 version over 19 all bugs and don't want to start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1851170/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1851170] Re: GRUB2 version over 19 all bugs and don't want to start
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this reads more like a request for support rather than a bug report. You've tagged `ubuntu-release-upgrader` as your issue, not grub but it looks like you installed 19.10 only recently & haven't used `do-release- upgrade` to move to a later release (20.04) so how does ubuntu-release- upgrader apply? We understand the difficulties you are facing, but it is better to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. This bug report can be converted to a question (which is aimed at support). You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community- support/709 I've marked this bug incomplete as normal support steps don't appear to have been tried, or evidence of them hasn't been provided. If you believe I'm in error, or can provide additional detail of steps done, please change status back to "New" and leave comment, or additional information as to what was attempted. Note: the package could be changed to `grub2` but I'm unsure to what packages you're referring with the .32/.19 references given you've tagged ubuntu-release-upgrader (1:19.10.15) Thanks again for helping make Ubuntu better.
