[Bug 348491] Re: unclear localization files
It was an issue, but a small one. You can see in the import queue the excess pot templates, we had to manually block them from importing from time to time: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+source/sphinx/+imports?field.filter_status=all&field.filter_extension=pot Anyways, it was a minor annoyance, and this is also a way to solve it, so thanks :) At the same time, I'm disabling the template. ** Changed in: ubuntu-translations Status: Triaged => Fix Released ** Changed in: sphinx (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/348491 Title: unclear localization files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-translations/+bug/348491/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 348491] Re: unclear localization files
Is this still an issue? It seems like you're looking in a directory containing build results. As Piotr mentioned (years ago), Running the clean target produces: $ find ./ -name *.pot ./sphinx/locale/sphinx.pot Also, we're not stripping sphinx translations anymore ** Changed in: sphinx (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/348491 Title: unclear localization files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-translations/+bug/348491/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 348491] Re: unclear localization files
Just looking in the import queue I see there are still 3 different locations for the same .pot file: sphinx/locale/sphinx.pot debian/python-sphinx/usr/share/python-support/python-sphinx/sphinx/locale/sphinx.pot build/lib.linux-i686-2.6/sphinx/locale/sphinx.pot https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty/+source/sphinx/+imports?field.filter_status=all&field.filter_extension=pot Maybe we should go with "sphinx/locale/sphinx.pot" and block the other templates. I'm building the source package and the .mo files are generated in /usr/share/pyshare/sphynx/locale . In order to include them in Ubunu language-pack they must be generated/read from a /usr/share/locale-langpack and it should be a single .mo file. Looking at the setup.py code I see that sphinx is not using gettext in a way compatible with language-packs. I don't what to say and we can make sphinx compatbile with language- packs. Maybe see how we can extend the language-pack script to also include the JavaScript localization stuff used in sphinx ** Changed in: sphinx (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- unclear localization files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/348491 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Can you confirm this bug on the 0.5.2-1ubuntu1 version? ** Changed in: sphinx (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- unclear localization files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/348491 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 348491] Re: unclear localization files
** Description changed: Looking into the source package it look like the "sphinx.pot" file is copied in 3 places . Is this realy required ? It can be confusing for translators: sphinx-0.5.1$ find ./ -name *.pot ./build/lib.linux-i686-2.6/sphinx/locale/sphinx.pot ./debian/python-sphinx/usr/share/pyshared/sphinx/locale/sphinx.pot ./sphinx/locale/sphinx.pot Also the package is in main repository so the translations should be handled by language pack and .mo file should be found in /usr/share/locale and not in a custom location. - Due to this custom location, the translations made in Rosetta are not - included in language packs. + Due to this custom location, the translations made in Rosetta and + included in language packs are copied in /usr/share/locale-langpack and + I don't think that sphynx is reading them from there. For now I will disable the "./sphinx/locale/sphinx.pot" template for rosetta until we clarify this problem and we make sure translations made in Rosetta are used -- unclear localization files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/348491 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
