I do confirm this issue persists. I ran into this issue, but I use lightdm instead of SDDM. sddm 0.20.0-2ubuntu4.2 in proposed seems to fix the bug for me, haven't experienced any failed black screen boots since then. Same here using NVidia GTX1050 Ti with Kubuntu 24.04. adding nomodeset fixes the problem as does removing both splash and quiet instead as a less performance impacting change. I've recently grabbed a Kubuntu 24.04 ISO to install on my System. The first reboot from setup it reaches the desktop without any problems. On 2nd bootup it does this to me.
