[Bug 509738] Re: Lucid: GSM: PIN not being sent
Finally able to reproduce the crash with a Sierra device; the problem is specific to certain plugins where the PIN check takes a while to happen (because the CFUN needs time to complete). Because the PIN check fails during the Enable() call, ModemManager will move the device from enabling -> disabled state, and that changes the Enabled property to FALSE, upon which NetworkManager would deactivate the device. That's bad since we want to move the device to NEED_AUTH and ask for the PIN. But since the device was already deactivated when the Enable() call reply came through, the g_assert () in handle_enable_pin_required() would fire. I've pushed a number of updates to NM and nm-applet to fix various bugs I found while investigating this problem, but there's still one issue with nm-applet I have to fix tomorrow. I think there is a bit of misunderstanding here. "default-java" is not an alternative that can be served by any JDK/JVM (like the "java" command). It points to the default implementation of Java for your platform. In Ubuntu on amd64 and i386, the default Java stack is OpenJDK. It's an indirection that, amongst other things, helps migrating to a new default Java (OpenJDK-7 ?) when available. So third-party applications that point to "default-java" do explicitly ask to use OpenJDK and not Sun's JDK. They should be changed to allow for a less strict dependency. Tomcat, for example, looks in its init script for JVMs in a list of potential paths, and allows you to change (in its /etc/defaults file) which one should be used. The problem with Avahi (http://www.avahi.org/ticket/303) is that: "kDNSServiceFlagsShareConnection is now used throughout CUPS's DNS-SD feature set (CUPS 1.4). This is not implemented in dns_sd.h, so Avahi support is not able to be added to CUPS." As far as I can tell, the gtkdocize tool generates a makefile that doesn't work right from a build directory. The way it's all set up, if you run the configure in the source directory, then cd into libudev/docs and run make there, you'll get correct documentation files... but only if you don't modify the gtk-doc.make with the sed statement in the debian/rules 'prep' target. After that, a make distclean will actually leave those generated documents where they are. For what it's worth, I'd add an extra step to the build to have it do that just to get them right. Hello all, please note that this bug completely inhibits use of mondo on any newly installed ubuntu system. Updated Version of mondo is available from http://www.mondorescue.org/ where they state that grub 2 support is available in 2.2.9. There are many other important changes in this new version. Strange observation: if you download the 2.2.9 package from mondorescue site and try to install, gdebi complains about 2.2.7 being newer. You have to uninstall 2.2.7 first. Same with mindi. I found out the problem. Two weeks ago I changed router. The old one uses 10.0.0.x LN IPs, the new one 192.168.1.x IPs. I have two printer, one of them is configured through IPP. Freezes happened when it tried to contact that printer (but PC had a new IP number). I fixed it removing old printer from System->Administration->Print and creting a new one. In fact it's a bug anyway but it must be addressed to cups or other related package.
