[Bug 1615734] Re: Multiple monitors broken
I'm having similar issues with the workstation dock, so I figured I'd add my details as well, in case it helps with debugging. First of all, my setup: OS: Ubuntu Gnome 16.04 LTS NVIDIA driver version: 375.39 BIOS version: N1EET64W (1.37) BIOS display setting: Discrete Video card: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GM107GLM [Quadro M1000M] (rev a2) Kernel version: 4.8.0-41-generic Display manager version: gdm3 3.20.1 GNOME shell version: GNOME Shell 3.20.4 If I plug my external monitor directly into the laptop, I have no issues whatsoever. As soon as I try running with one plugged into the dock, the display just constantly switches back and forth between the laptop screen by itself and both screens. Sometimes, I can boot fine with a display plugged into the dock, but as soon as anything changes, like the displays idling or changing a display setting, it starts flickering again. I've attached my /var/log/Xorg.0.log, which confirms this behavior. For this log dump, I did the following: 1. Powered on the laptop in the dock, with a single monitor plugged into the dock via HDMI. 2. Everything comes up fine and both monitors are working. 3. In this case, I just locked the screen, which causes the monitors to dim and turn off. 4. As soon as that happened, the flickering started up again 5. Unplugged the monitor from the dock, so I could use the computer again The log file shows that, for some reason, the module is constantly "Setting mode" between the two different configurations. ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-361/+bug/1615734/+attachment/4845018/+files/Xorg.0.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1615734 Title: Multiple monitors broken To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-361/+bug/1615734/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1675591] Re: Crash during installation
Your disk is currently partitioned to boot in bios mode, but you booted the installer in EFI mode. A warning message prompted you that this could be a problem and recommended performing a bios mode install instead, but you chose not to. You either need to perform the bios mode install, or partition the disk using GPT and set up an EFI system partition to install in EFI mode. This will be done for you if you choose the "use entire disk" guided install option. ** Changed in: grub-installer (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1675591 Title: Crash during installation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+bug/1675591/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1675929] [NEW] python-caja should have Python 3 support
Public bug reported: Ubuntu MATE 16.10, python-caja 1.16 It is currently not possible to create a Caja extension as a Python 3 package, and have the main extension module import other modules from the same (or other) Python 3 packages. I am not sure whether we need a "python3-caja", or simply have the existing python-caja work with py3 - in either case, py3 support is essential, in my opinion. ** Affects: caja (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1675929 Title: python-caja should have Python 3 support To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/caja/+bug/1675929/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1675925] Re: gpg-agent service sets wrong SSH_AUTH_SOCK value
My first attempt to fix this involved trying to move gpg-agent invocation from upstart to systemd --user. I got that to work by creating: ~/.config/upstart/gpg-agent.override (manual) ~/.config/systemd/user/default.target.wants/gpg-agent.service -> /usr/lib/systemd/user/gpg-agent.service ~/.config/systemd/user/gpg-agent.service.d/override.conf ([Unit] Before=graphical-session-pre.target) That correctly started the gpg-agent service, but the environment variables were not visible within a terminal started from gnome-shell. Somehow upstart seems to be the only way for setting env vars, the systemd user service unit does not work as intended. Upstart needs to die. [Bug 1672337] Re: [unity8] can't restore an app if you minimize it while a child window, menu or context menu is opened
Looking at the logs, when the top-level surface is minimized its child still keeps focused and in the same state. Not sure if the child should also go to minimized state (probably yes) but I'm sure it should not be kept focused. [Bug 1675481] Re: Xmir crashes when using the '-fd' option
The following diff seems to fix the crash: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/24242549/ I haven't committed it yet since I'm really not sure if this method is valid or if there is a bug. After a client connects to the X socket and Xmir is started with the fd returned from accept(), the client just hangs. I got a backtrace of the client, and it's blocked on xcb_connect_to_fd(). [Bug 1675925] [NEW] gpg-agent service sets wrong SSH_AUTH_SOCK value
Public bug reported: After upgrading from xenial to yakkety, I noticed that my SSH_AUTH_SOCK environment variable pointed to $GNUPGHOME/S.gpg-agent.ssh, which is no longer the correct location with the current gnupg 2.1 package. After much investigation, it appears that the variable is set by upstart in the /usr/share/upstart/sessions/gpg-agent.conf script. Attached patch corrects this script to point to the new default location at $XDG_RUNTIME_DIR/gnupg/. The logic is shamelessly stolen from gnupg-agent's systemd user service file, /usr/lib/systemd/user/gpg-agent.service, which is apparently not used. Re: [Bug 1672424] Re: Cannot install Debian files outside of the repositories
Thats good info! Could this be fixed in by changing how gnome-software is invoked during local installs or would it need to be done within the program itself? Its not uncommon for a software (especially one run with root permissions) to need a full system path. It would also explain why the "~/" doesn't work as it is a built in alias for /home/$username <---which changes once the software starts. [Bug 1471794] Re: Wifi slow on Intel Corporation Centrino Ultimate-N 6300
Hello, The file /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/default-wifi-powersave-on.conf doesn't exists on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. But I tried "options iwlwifi 11n_disable=8", I don't understand why "8" (because with "1" it doesn't change anything) but on my laptop: The Wireless card connect faster to the AP and without errors. In Download I have 8 - 8.3 MB/s (50% of the speed of Windows 7, but faster than before) In Upload I have 15 - 15.5MB/s (Same speed as Windows 7, 7x - 15x faster than before) My Laptop use Linux 3.13 (because of AMD Bullshit drivers) on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. Thanks you very much for your help !
