Hi Aravind, You need a good hardware for setting up the server, Internet connection with large amount of bandwidth (atm its bit costly here in India). This should do. Rest is little work of setting up a script on cron to sync the files from a master server. -- "A well-directed imagination is the source of great deeds" -- With Best Regards, Omshivaprakash.H.L | ಓಂ ಶಿವಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಎಚ್. ಎಲ್ | ॐ शिवप्रकाश् एच्. एल् Website : http://www.techfiz.info Blog : http://platonic.techfiz.info Phone: 91- 9902026518 AIM : fizworks ICQ : 265216744 IRC : #techfiz server: irc.freenode.net channel: #linux-india #ubuntu-in #gnu-india #kannada - Original Message - From: "Arvind Gupta" To: "Ubuntu India Local Community" Sent: Saturday, March 28, 2009 9:41:55 PM GMT +05:30 Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi Subject: Re: [ubuntu-in] downloading desktop version Hi Om, Do you know what are resources needed to make a mirror? -arvind 2009/3/28 Omshivaprakash H L < omshivaprak...@gmail.com > Hi Shashi., There is no mirror in India atm. I will update my team regarding this. We did remastered Ubuntu CD to add Language support, added KGP SCIM layouts etc which is very useful for reporters and writers who are used to inscript layout provided in Baraha and other tools. This also helped us to ensure that LiveCD works out-of box at the event. We could teach them how to type in local languages on different applications like pidgin, IRC, gEdit etc. It was useful for many bloggers as they wanted to type in directly in local languges while blogging even when they are on Linux. Is there any one else out there trying to remaster Ubuntu to meet the local requirements? I would be glad to discuss more on this so that we can reach out people while they use Linux and provide what they want in the ISO/CD. - -- - -- "A well-directed imagination is the source of great deeds" - -- With Best Regards, Omshivaprakash.H.L | ಓಂ ಶಿವಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಎಚ್. ಎಲ್ | ॐ शिवप्रकाश् एच्. एल् Website : http://www.techfiz.info Blog : http://platonic.techfiz.info Phone: 91- 9902026518 AIM : fizworks ICQ : 265216744 IRC : #techfiz server: irc.freenode.net channel: #linux-india #ubuntu-in #gnu-india #kannada -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFItwam7OA72yfkJqMRAgwXAJ9AQ30Dl1tcCYoyISF8dE1DcsIN2QCbBNZb K/EHJnW4u0nju8Hwfj4jat0= =KOJc -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in
