[ubuntu-studio-users] Ardour 2 and 3: export starts but the progress bar is not moving, export failed
I made a recording with Ardour and all good, but I could not export it. In Ardour channel on Freenode is told by a bug in Jack2, and was told that I could install jack1, but I did not because it will damage my UbuntuStudio 13.10. But they said to me that I can record with jack_capture and working fine, but is necessary open with audacity for corrections. This means several steps.I write this because the package Ardour 3 and 2 are installed by default on UbuntuStudio but can not export.I'm doing some manual on Youtube for other people to use Ubuntu/UbuntuStudio and thinking about other people, I ask you if can put on the desktop a README file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/x36j6capaz6t6ik/Por%20favor%20pueden%20poner%20un%20archivo%20README%20sobre%20UbuntuStudio.png explaining the things that work and those that do not. As do some other Linux distributions. This is important for the user not feel bad, or spend much time looking for a solution to a major problem. -- ubuntu-studio-users mailing list ubuntu-studio-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-users

Is there an ubuntustudio wiki where things like that can be put? This is important for the user not feel bad, or spend much time looking for a solution to a major problem. Send a bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntustudio/+bugs https://github.com/jackaudio/jack2/issues Installing jackd1 shouldn't break Ubuntu Studio. Perhaps it will remove a meta-package, but this wouldn't brake anything. Be aware that if you should use MIDI, jack1 is the less good choice, since getting less MIDI jitter is possible with jack2 only. It's said that this will change for the new code of jack1. However, it can't harm to test both versions of jackd. They both could have advantages and drawbacks or bugs the other version doesn't have and this could change with each release of jackd 1 and 2. Writing a Wiki only is useful, if you report what version of jackd 2 does cause the bug, because Ubuntu likely will come with this version, while upstream already released a fixed stable version and howtos are read by many people, even using other distros. __ As a side note, usually using a search engine is wanted, before asking questions, finding a Wiki using start page took me a few seconds. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuStudio Regards, Ralf -- ubuntu-studio-users mailing list ubuntu-studio-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-users

This is a good place to put howtos https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuStudio/HowTos, however, bugs should be fixed, not worked around, so reporting bugs it is the best choice. [ubuntu-studio-users] Chromium rendering bug?
Just a week or so ago, Chromium started failing to render 'tabs' on a web page. I believe this was coincident with the installation of a series of updates by update manager. Has anyone else noticed this? Specifics: UbuntuStudio 13.10, kept up to date by update manager. Web page is the LuCI interface on an OpenWRT 12.09 equipped router Instead of tabs, I'm just getting a list of words, arranged vertically, not horizontally, and in a color that is difficult to distinguish from the background. Firefox on the same machine renders the page properly, as well as both Firefox and Chromium on an older UbuntuStudio 10.10 installation. Anybody know if this apparent regression is already known to the developers/packagers? -- Rick Green We, the People of the United States of America, reject the U.S. Supreme Court's Citizens United ruling, and move to amend our Constitution to firmly establish that money is not speech, and that human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights. http://www.MoveToAmend.org -- ubuntu-studio-users mailing list ubuntu-studio-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-users
