What did the last 2 posts titled this way have to do with Rosegarden?

Everyone please be mindful of your subject lines and title them

Well.. I do not think it is good idea give to you deb-file, it is really
a fake one, not correct for any Debian or Ubuntu system.

Here is what I did for Rosegarden 1.6:

http://forum.ubuntu-fi.org/index.php?topic=14393.msg104845#msg104845

Gutsy has all dev-packages for Rosegarden 1.6. Now it is 1.7.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Bin/rosegarden$ cat version.txt
1.7.0-svn
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Bin/rosegarden$

One more thing, there is no such thing as latest deb-file, Rosegarden is
only available as source code:

"We don't make ready-to-run binaries; you should get those as packages
tailored for a particular Linux distribution."

Ubuntu 7.10 (and Studio) ffmpeg can't grab desktop to the movie as
default. You have to build ffmpeg all over again, I have a little howto
for that.

http://forum.ubuntu-fi.org/index.php?topic=14568.0

And checkinstall is nice little tool, too. I have compiled these
programs from svn/source to a deb-file with checkinstall.

Kino 1.2.0 - checkinstall OK.
Dvgrab 3.1 - checkinstall OK.
ffmpeg svn - checkinstall OK.
Rosegarden 1.7 - checkisntall OK.

And here is example with ffmpeg/x11grab/flv.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Bin/ffmpeg$ ./ffmpeg -vcodec flv -f x11grab -s 1680x1050 -i
:0.0 /home/asmok/Videot/out.flv

I did also a howto (so sorry for finnish once again) for two modules -
uvcvideo and stk11xx. If you have a webcam inside your laptop that howto
might helps. I build them against generic-kernel. I did try to help two

Here is same thing on Blip TV.

Flumotion > Kino

Kino > flv

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Työpöytä$ file Flumotion.flv
Flumotion.flv: Macromedia Flash Video

So with Webcam, Flumotion and Kino you can broadcast yourself - if you
have something to say...

There is another tool for streaming, mjpg-streamer. With that tool you

Webcam - uvcvideo

2007-12-08 Thread Asmo Koskinen

Hi,

I just made finnish Wiki page for Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 - that
model has Carl Zeiss optics. It uses uvcvideo module, so Ubuntu 7.10
works out of box. Some highlights.

1. Two programs to watch.

uvcview-20071108 -
http://www.arkki.info/howto/LogitechPro9000/wiki/uvcview.png
luvcview-20070512 -
http://www.arkki.info/howto/LogitechPro9000/wiki/luvcview.png

Luvcview cam also capture (11s) -
http://www.arkki.info/howto/LogitechPro9000/wiki/luvcview.avi

2. Two programs to stream.

uvc-stream

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/bin/mjpg-streamer/uvc-streamer$ ./uvc_stream
Using V4L2 device.: /dev/video0
Resolution: 640 x 480
frames per second.: 5
TCP port..: 8080
motor control TCP port: 8081

uvc-stream/vlc -
http://www.arkki.info/howto/LogitechPro9000/wiki/uvc_stream_vlc.png

Flumotion (poor quality by me, not by Flumotion) -
http://www.arkki.info/howto/LogitechPro9000/Flumotion.png

3. Microphone

Microphone is not bad at all for podcasting or something.

arecord -D plughw:1,0 -c 1 -f cd -v testi.wav -
http://www.arkki.info/howto/LogitechPro9000/wiki/testi.ogg

4. Ekiga and Skype worked too

5. Finnish Wiki page - http://wiki.ubuntu-fi.org/Logitech_QuickCam_Pro_9000

This webcam is not a cheapest one but this time you can really do
something with it - record podcast, stream and capture video and chat
with your brother who still use some strange OS ;-).

Best Regards Asmo Koskinen.
