I'm not infront of a linux box at the moment so I can't test this, but
you should be able to set the permissions when you mount the drive.

sudo mount -t vfat /dev/ / -ouid=1000,gid=1000

or something similar, check "man mount" for more info/exact command.

You can do something similar in /etc/fstab too, so you can have it happen
automagically on boot.

I'm guessing you have an nvidia or ati graphics card? Both of these can
use proprietary drivers to enable 3d acceleration (and advanced 2d
acceleration on newer NV cards). Easiest way to fix it would be to
install the drivers again (System > Administration > Hardware Drivers)
rather than a complete restore / reinstall.

It should also be possible to reconfigure X to use the appropriate FOSS
driver if you want. (sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg)

Clinking the big green banner on the main pages leads to:

http://www.openmoko.com/product.html

Which says:

*  Memory
  o 128MB SDRAM
  o 256MB NAND Flash
  o microSD Slot

Which I think answer your question.

Unless you need it to do something specific you just need to run

fsck /dev/device_name

as root or via sudo (replacing /dev/device_name with the real device of
course)

Have you followed the link at the bottom if each mail and unsubcribed?

https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk and scroll right
to the bottom.

You should recieve an email asking you to confirm the unsubscription
and that should be the last mail you get from the list.

Not used them myself, but the spec is good for the price and Mesh seem
to be recommended / A Listed in a few serious and games magazines.
(PC Pro springs to mind)

If it was me, and I hadn't just built a similar spec machine I'd go for it.

Add you experience to the kbunutu Wiki? Or raise a bug?

Should share you problems and findings outside of the uk mailing list.
