So when trying to reproduce it I opened a lot (200+) tabs from Digg an Youtube and at some point a tab openes in an Untitled window outside of firefox and I get the following errors: (firefox:9845): Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x4c71753 unexpectedly destroyed (firefox:9845): Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x4c71752 unexpectedly destroyed (firefox:9845): Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x4c71780 unexpectedly destroyed (firefox:9845): Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x4c7179f unexpectedly destroyed (firefox:9845): Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x4c7179e unexpectedly destroyed (firefox:9845): Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x4c71771 unexpectedly destroyed (firefox:9845): Gdk-WARNING **: GdkWindow 0x4c71770 unexpectedly destroyed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_new: assertion `window != NULL' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_set_user_data: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_set_back_pixmap: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (firefox:9845): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set_data: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (firefox:9845): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set_data: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_move_resize: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_hide: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_new: assertion `window != NULL' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_set_user_data: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_set_back_pixmap: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (firefox:9845): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set_data: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (firefox:9845): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set_data: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_move_resize: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_hide: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_show_unraised: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_new: assertion `window != NULL' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_set_user_data: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_set_back_pixmap: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (firefox:9845): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set_data: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (firefox:9845): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set_data: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_move_resize: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_hide: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed (firefox:9845): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_show_unraised: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed Whe I close that window firefox crashes, if I don't it just keeps running, occasionally opening another tab in a window... -- [MASTER] firefox-3.0b5 received an X Window System error: 'BadIDChoice' https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/220628 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libxcb in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 392410] Re: [MIR] UNR packages
Regarding webfav 10. Internationalization: * Are graphical applications translatable? Do they support gettext? Not a graphical application. It is translatable (and if I'm not mistaken the strings are visible in the UI), but it does not use gettext. The format it uses is the same one as Firefox: a .dtd XML file plus a .properties Java/Js properties definitions file. The only difference is in the packaging: while in Firefox there is a separate ll.xpi (where ll is the language code) archive containing the translations for each locale, webfav has all translations embedded in the package itself. This is important when importing the translations into Launchpad and when exporting them in language packs: the way it works in Firefox is the following - first, the ll.xpi individual translations are imported into Launchpad (which supports native xpi imports) independently from the package. When exporting them to be released in the language packs, Launchpad does not support native exports, so they are available only as an intermediate format called XPIPO. In order to convert them back to .dtd and .properties, which is what ultimately will be released in the language packs, po2xpi (https://code.launchpad.net/~mozillateam/rosetta/po2xpi) must be used. Now that webfav is going to be promoted into main and its translations released in language packs, this should probably be taken care of in the package. -- [MIR] UNR packages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/392410 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xf86-input-evtouch in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 395790] Re: Logout does not work as expected
Ok, thanks. The problem seems to be that Xorg is crashing when you try to log out, meaning that you never reach KDM to log in again. This is most likely a video driver issue. I should have mentioned this last post, but the X guys will want a copy of your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and a copy of the output of the command lspci -vvnn. ** Package changed: kdebase-workspace (Ubuntu) = xserver-xorg-video- intel (Ubuntu) -- Logout does not work as expected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/395790 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 396546] [NEW] Ctrl-Alt-F1 does not drop to a console
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Note: this works using the 2.6.31-1 kernel on the same computer. Using an up-to-date karmic, when using the key combination Ctrl-Alt-F1, I do not get a console. Instead, the screen freezes and I get the weird color corruption on the background, as seen in the screenshot. Pressing Ctrl-Alt-F7 brings back the desktop. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 351186] Re: [M76] [ubuntu 9.04] slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled
The described patch xserver-no-backfill works flawlessly for me on - Ubuntu 9.04 / 64 Bit - Lenovo T500 with a Mobility Radeon HD 3650 - Catalyst 9.6 I experienced no performance loss in normal office work (not having tried any serious 3D stuff though). But compiz works a lot snappier now overall, so I can fully recommend this patch. -- [M76] [ubuntu 9.04] slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351186 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 285701] Re: x gives black screen with fglrx
Hello Bryce, I tried the xorg-edgers last night fglrx last night (8.62 I believe) and still no joy.. blank screen etc, same logfile and same errors. I definitely think this is a problem with mobility radeons, EDID and lcd detection. I still get that whole 'nothing connected' and this is with only -1- video card in the laptop and -1- LCD. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 351186] Re: [M76] [ubuntu 9.04] slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled
I confirm that the patch works very well on Lenovo T400 with Ubuntu 9.04 as well. However, the problem that Xorg consumes a large amount of memory is still pending ... And I also found that, some process might be holding a lot of memory at the same time, but after I locked the computer, and woke it up, I can see that a certain amount of memory is released, by some process other than Xorg. While the Xorg is still holding a lot and eating more minute by minute. Does anybody have this problem or have a clue on it ... [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 351186] Re: [M76] [ubuntu 9.04] slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled
In response to hlxshady's previous post, I will sometimes leave my PC on overnight with Pidgin and firestarter only running and come back to a slow and unresponsive PC due to Xorg using 100% CPU. I have installed the patch and it fixes the problem pretty well. Gnome-Do still has about a 1/2 to 3/4 sec delay, but that is passable. Can someone tell me how to find out what is causing Xorg to eat up my CPU? I have: Ubuntu 9.04 x64 ATI Radeon HD 3650 The patch applied P.S. While we are here, can someone tell me how to make Metacity the default window manager to load? Normally, compiz would load and I would manually change it back to metacity, but after I applied the patch, whenever compiz loads the screen is black (I have firestarter set to load on startup). When the screen is black, I put in my password and the screen comes back to normal. I would just like to have Metacity load and skip the while process.
