[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 444139] Re: (Needs KMS) Background and full screen apps don't show up when Normal Visual Effects on (ATI RV100/RV200 chipset)
I have ATI Radeon 9200 64MB card. I have all the problems which have been meant earlier. I fixed this problem with configured xorg.conf but I can't say that it is even Interpid perfomance levels. On Interpid it was better with open-source drivers. I can't play 2D games (Battle Tanks for example, very slow indeed). Maybe another solution? P.S. With KMS turned on, glxgears give less FPS then just xorg.conf configuration Sorry for my English ** Attachment added: xorg.conf http://launchpadlibrarian.net/37285391/xorg.conf -- (Needs KMS) Background and full screen apps don't show up when Normal Visual Effects on (ATI RV100/RV200 chipset) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/444139 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is the registrant for xserver-xorg-driver-ati. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 500117] Re: kde bad screen resolution after login
Well, I figured out how to fix that : there was a kdedisplayrc config file in my .kde folder (like .kde/share/app/config/) I simply removed it, relogged and then the resolution was the same that the login screen one, and the right one by the way. Then, I checked and the file didn't event appear again. In my case, It was eventually OK ! - Mail Original - De: Monkey monkey.li...@gmail.com À: romainmad...@free.fr Envoyé: Mardi 29 Décembre 2009 22h35:23 GMT +01:00 Amsterdam / Berlin / Berne / Rome / Stockholm / Vienne Objet: [Bug 500117] Re: kde bad screen resolution after login I assign this bug to xorg package. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 500958] [NEW] After Karmic kernel updates, the panels are unresponsive.
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: firefox-3.5 Last week, after receiving a kernel update (2.6.31-16-generic-pae), the panels became unresponsive. After doing a terminal un-install of gdm, panels, and desktop and re-installing them a fix was not acquired. Upon restarting the computer in the A.M., the panels returned in gnome and were responsive as always. This afternoon, I received a new kernel update to 2.6.31-17-generic- pae, and seemingly, everything was working with the panels and eventually I shut down. Upon restarting the computer, and gnome opening, the panels were white initially, with no icons and eventually after 10 to 20 minutes the icons appeared, but remained unresponsive; (just as in the previous kernel update). I tried the un-installing and re-installing as before to no avail. In both instances I had to use Ctrl Alt Delete and received notifications panel is unresponsive and did I want to continue with the dirty shut down; as the panels were still running. My installation of Karmic was via live CD ~ Oct 30, and I have had no other noticeable problems. Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 494166] Re: [lucid] nvidia-glx can't work with new xorg 7.5
It looks like the driver binaries in the Lucid archive were copied over from the Karmic archive, where they were built against Karmic's xserver packages, and they have not been rebuilt against Lucid's xserver packages. So that's why the nvidia blob is providing the older xserver-xorg-video virtual package. On Wed, Dec 30, 2009 at 10:04 AM, Curtis Lee Bolin curtlee2...@gmail.comwrote: yes, you are correct. I just tried to run $ sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-185 and it wanted to remove xserver-xorg, meaning it still doesn't work. I have all ati at home, but my work computer has nvidia. I added the PPA at https://edge.launchpad.net/~sevenmachines/+archive/nvidia and install nvidia-graphics-drivers-195 and it works great for me. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 440544] Re: screen corruption with Radeon 4770
Following ceg's link to Phoronix, I can confirm that setting Option EXANoDownloadFromScreen true in Section Device of xorg.conf fixes / works round this problem. Ceg - you need an xorg.conf with this line in it. However you may not have an existing xorg.conf - the following xorg.conf worked for me. If you need more help than this, you should probably ask in the forums. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 501689] [NEW] nVidia hangs on starting a second X instance at system boot
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nvidia-glx-185 This only occurs with nvidia proprietary driver, and only on cold boot. Doing a warm boot, or using a different video card does not reproduce the problem. In addition, the 195 driver does not fix this problem either. Basically in startup scripts, a second Xorg instance is started (in addition to the normal gdm instance) on :5/vt11. The display will hang (strace shows on select()) until switching the console to vt11. ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- nVidia hangs on starting a second X instance at system boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/501689 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 427061] Re: Wacom mouse clicks very sluggish/ignored in Jaunty
As I already noted, lspci output *has* been attached and now this bug has been marked to have expired because it has a tag that someone forgot to remove about still needing the lspci output. Not very encouraging, do I need to keep babysitting this bug once a month to keep it from expiring? :( -- Wacom mouse clicks very sluggish/ignored in Jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/427061 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to wacom-tools in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 501296] [NEW] Computer booted into no X display with an acpi error
You have been subscribed to a public bug: 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System - About Ubuntu. I am using Karmic Koola 9.10 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename' or by checking in Synaptic. This is an immediate crash when the Xserver was attempted to be started. I asked the boot safe crash dialog (one that asks if I would like to start x in safe mode) to package a tar of all the related files see attachments. 3) What you expected to happen To boot my computer into the kde desktop. 4) What happened instead My computer booted into a 4 choice questionnaire. Asking if I like to start in safe low graphics mode, view the error output, go back into the terminal or save crash report log data which I selected for. The computer resumed back to boot the graphic desktop after I exited the questionnaire. === See attachment with this report ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Tue Dec 29 07:33:40 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/dolphin NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: dolphin 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu3 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-16.53-386 SourcePackage: kdebase Uname: Linux 2.6.31-16-386 i686 ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- Computer booted into no X display with an acpi error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/501296 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
