Public bug reported: With updated 13.04 beta, unplugging an external monitor from laptop results in corrupted screen. Logging out fixes it. A screen capture looks normal (not like what the display is showing!). Plugging an external monitor in does not produce any similar problem. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1157614] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGABRT in WakeupHandler()
I ran sudo udevadm trigger --action=add --subsystem-match=drm and it went black and logged me out. On returning I had a crash report, let me know if you want me to report it (It had the same title as this report) I edited udevtrigger.conf and it did not fix the bug. For the first time I have noticed a lightdm crash.. I tried to report it but it says This problem report is damaged and cannot be processed. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 993655] Re: Unity looses mouse click handler when using enabling USB headset
The fix for 1007575/SB Arena USB headset doesn't work for this bug which is related to a Plantronics headset. I believe the vendor codes are different, but the actual fix may be the same. I tested this on Kernel 3.7 and the bug was still present. I'm running Kernel 3.8 right now, but not in a position to verify this until later in the week. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1157614] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGABRT in WakeupHandler()
It should probably check if the device is already added, instead of blindly re-adding. :-) I understand the drmmode part now. It goes wrong in 3 places at the moment: * bugs in xorg-server - Fix 1: drm_device_keep_trying.patch (pushed to debian git, proposed on mailing list) - Fix 2: unbinding hybrid drivers doesn't work correctly at the moment, detaching is not done correctly if it has outputs and rendering (in my local tree, need to amend the correct patch) - Fix 3: Ignore add events for devices we already have added, instead of removing/re-adding device. * bugs in drivers: - all except modesetting: drmmode_init installs some handlers, and nothing cleans them up - all: the drm fd is never closed, so reopening a device will always fail. Plus perhaps some more bugs in some places, but those were the obvious ones I found so far. I fixed xserver-xorg-video-ati in upstream git, other drivers should be fixable in a similar way. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1157614 Title: Xorg crashed with SIGABRT in WakeupHandler() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1157614/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1157458] Re: visual glitch
I saw the glich in the importance sign in Evolution several times and the glitch looked similar every time, but I don't know how to trigger it. I don't see that many different gliches any more besides the mentioned ones here in the bug report. I will report back if I stumble over other ones. The glichtes that I tried to catch in a screenshot appear in it. Does that mean that the bug lies somewhere above the driver, because it can be catched in a screenshot? GPU hangs freeze the desktop for several second or need the X server rebooted, right? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1157458] Re: visual glitch
The relevence of whether it is captured in a screenshot is that it gives a clue as to whereabout in the driver it fails - or rather it rules out several potential candidates. A GPU hang will indeed be first noticed by a stutter and be recorded in the kernel log - on your system, it should not require a reboot except in exceptional circumstances. Not sure about the libreoffice glitch, that I would say is more likely to be a gui issue rather than driver, but you already have too many weirds things happening that one more wouldn't surprise me. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1157458 Title: visual glitch To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1157458/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
