Also there is more flexibility in the player name. LMS also refers to the player name rather than the host name. Personally I set the Player name and host name the same. Your point is valid and logically correct. > And then the web page keeps stuck at the /cgi-bin/reboot.cgi , that > allows an enter to reboot the PCP again WITHOUT confirmation at all. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 3.20 Beta
To help you all with the great efforts, I have upgraded my pcp domain to 3.20B5 Sofar I have found nothing I could not fix with the common sense and previously posted solutions to known problems. 2 issue's areas however I would like to mention: 1) when using an odd 128MB ( ! no typo !) tf card, I was unable to extend the file system to use 'the whole' card. It seems if there is not 100 KB extra available, the script claims the extend is not possible. Perhaps that part can be reviewed and give me the extra MB's to install something useful like jivelight and NTFS USB MSD access ? BTW it is a workable setup for a B+, 2b, 3b with wifi dongle and phat-dac, and I assume the zero would be OK too. Kudo's to those who keep PCP small ! 2) the rebooting script from the main page, refers to the squeezelite name rather than the host name, in the confirmation box. A small thing, but the host is rebooted, and with that the player is restarted. And then the web page keeps stuck at the /cgi-bin/reboot.cgi , that allows an enter to reboot the PCP again WITHOUT confirmation at all. As it is still beta, this might all be solved before others do hit this new release. I'm glad I can help with the beta tests MH M-H's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66156 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107223 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Netbooting piCorePlayer 3.x
Hi Huxmut, Indeed the case you linked is the one that allowed me to have a pi in the living room, and does use the sd-extender. On the subject of netbooting ; it would be awesome to have an empty pi to learn all configuration over the network. Firmware, OS, configuration and executables all over the net. A central server, preferably a PCP , with the needed services and storage could centralise all that. Unfortunately it would be wired ethernet only at this moment. And I use all my players and LMServer wireless at this moment. ( I know the disadvantages and risks, but it works for me ) I have been thinking about wifi booting, but that would be quite more complex ( SSID, passwords, chipsets supported ) and impossible until the bootloader is extended for this. And frankly I do not expect the raspberry foundation to put time into that wifi-netbooting concept. A recently purchased wifi printer however showed me it is possible to recognise and configure a factory default node to work on the wifi network without memorycard, USB connection or key input on the device. So technically it is not impossible. Still parts of the central repository can be done with scripting and pushing config files to a central node. It would be similar to the insitu upgrades and also have the same drawbacks. For me it is a nice thing to debate, but in my situation I would stay with card swapping, as it almost as easy and flexible. Only a full USB boot would help ease the handling. The total resurce utilization is similar, but the server, normally, is much more capable, and the CPU cost for decoding to pcm and upsampling at client side is greather than the network overhead. Bandwidth is the only real cons, it depends if it 's a concern for you or not. About quality we could discuss for month, but let's assume is the same. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Cdplayer plugin in picoreplayer player for RPi3
If pCP is your LMS server, then you need to install CD-ROM kernel modules from the piCorePlayer sourceforge repo. You can do that on the extension web page in pCP. paul-'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58858 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107282 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 2.00
I want to change the Shairport startup settings so it doesn't have the '-c Digital' option on startup. I can't find anywhere to configure this in the web menu, but I don't mind doing it manually in the filesystem. Can anyone tell me where I can change that option, and how I would back it up to the card to make it persistent afterwards? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Cdplayer plugin in picoreplayer player for RPi3
For CDplayer plugin discussion it is best to post on the CDplayer thread http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?47288-Announce-CDplayer-plugin/page1 The CD drive must be plugged into the server running LMS It is not clear whether you are running LMS on RPI3 or LMS on another server because of problems with LMS on RPI3. I do not know LMS picoreplayer but there are other user who have installed cdplayer on picoreplayer - if you post on the CDplayer thread you will get a better chance of a good reply rather than asking about a CDplayer Windows install on the Linux forum. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107282 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
