As alternative for Airplay and BT Audio input, I use DLNA.
Samsung phones have the cast build into the player. the older ones at
least.
Other phones need one of the free DLNA apps.
Give it a go, If you can reach your set through wifi, you do not need
much more.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] pcp 3.22 which 5" touchscreen for jivelite is working best?

2018-01-16 Thread M-H

another +1 for the official 7" Raspberry LCD touch screen

It is a bit more expensive than the cheapest 5 inch but it is a quality
display that will give you a lot of community support.
pcp will give you all you need to get it running in little time.

For a housing look for rasptouch. It will give a high quality finished
set. The only tinkering you need is at the back panel to match your
outputs with the holes

There were reports in the Jivelite for Windows thread that some special
keys from MS Multimedia keyboard ... but that was on Windows.

See
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?102939-Jivelite-for-Windows
which also lists the various keys.

Also - have a search (Internet) for using the media keys with Lirc on
Linux ... might have some reusable examples.

Thanks. I've kind of done away with the idea of having a display but
would still like to make a controller based on a wireless keyboard but
I'm struggling to track down any info on what keys are used within
jivelite and how to change them.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer

2018-01-16 Thread Dan benDan

This is my current working setup.
parts list:

Micca MB42X Bookshelf Speakers
Monoprice 24k Gold Plated Speaker Banana Plugs, Closed Screw Type
AmazonBasics 16-Gauge Speaker Wire
Conwork 2-Pair 2mm Banana Plug Screw Type Audio Speaker Cable
Connector
HighPi Raspberry Pi Case
HiFiBerry Amp2
Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Motherboard
VicTsing Gold-Plated HDMI to VGA Converter Adapter
Cable Matters Gold Plated VGA Monitor Cable with Ferrites 6 Feet
22" VGA Monitor
Logitech Mouse USB Corded
Logitech Keyboard USB Corded

I am very pleased with The functionality of Jivelite with this setup.

There is one thing that would make my enjoyment even greater.
Could you consider adding a way to present equalizer controls.

This would permit add/change/delete of equalizer settings while music
is playing.

I don't always like the way some songs are mixed and would like to
change the way it sounds
while listening to adjust for my personal tastes and to compensate for
certain room resonances and dead frequencies.

I wonder if others might like to have the same function.

Thank you VERY much for what you have created, I get a lot of enjoyment
from your work.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 2.00

2018-01-16 Thread marflao

OK...most likely a total noob question.

I´m running pCP 2.0 w Squeezelite v1.8-658 successfully on my RPi2.
The Pi2 is connected to my external DAC which is able to play files up
to DSD 128.

Now let´s assume I would get a new DAC or active speakers with built-in
DAC which can only play files up to 24/192.
Is there any chance that files higher than 24/192 can be played, too?
Can this be achieved via the "max sample rate" field in Squeezelite (if
"YES" what would be the correct setting?)?

Or anywhere else?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Markus
