Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite and (hopefully) Screen Switcher Applet
So is this file used Extensions.xml? If it is used is it always gotten from GitHub or is it downloaded to local. Or is another file is used? bengaldave's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4605 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110089 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

But only the NOT piCoreplayer version is being selected. The entry meant for piCoreplayer is never selected. The target is listed as jivelite. In searching the file, it seems like both jivelite and jive is used as a target. If only Jive is correct, then all occurrences of jivelite should be changed. Or if jivelite is correct, entries with jive should be changed. bengaldave's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4605 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110089 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Lms-community >> lms-plugin-repository File is extensions.xml Added target=“jivelite” I don't think this would work. It might help Jivelite users, but would at the same time hide the applet on other devices. Those targets are exclusive: anything not in the list would not get the applet. Could you please reset the file to what you had before, then enable logging for plugin.extensions and see what you get in the log when you try to install the applet? ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite and (hopefully) Screen Switcher Applet
Realize that this is an older thread. But it looks like this issue is still there. I had to manually install ScreenSwitcher on my new piCoreplayer. I do not know if this is the correct way, but I submitted a pull ticket Lms-community >> lms-plugin-repository File is extensions.xml Added target=jivelite bengaldave's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4605 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110089 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Erland also advertises minTarget="7.4" which also prevents easy installation. Looks like minTarget="0.1" fixes that part (but as you note, "jivelite" needs to be in the pipe-delimited "target" attribute of the applet element). Cross your fingers, I think I've got a mirror repo.xml nearly ready that would allow pCP Jivelite to easily install Erland's applets. -Peter owner of the stuff at https://tuxreborn.netlify.app/ (which used to reside at www.tux.org/~peterw/) Note: The best way to reach me is email or PM, as I don't spend much time on the forums. *Free plugins:* AllQuiet Auto Dim/AutoDisplay BlankSaver ContextMenu DenonSerial FuzzyTime KidsPlay KitchenTimer PlayLog PowerCenter/BottleRocket SaverSwitcher SettingsManager SleepFade StatusFirst SyncOptions VolumeLock peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110089 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Before I go to the trouble... has anybody gone to the trouble of mirroring Erland's repo and fixing stuff like the missing target attributes and reliance on http: for the downloads? Maybe you can implement Screen Switcher or other applets in that repo.xml in future releases of JiveLite. Since Erlands Plugins are free it should be possible. It would be much easier to install if it can directly done by JiveLite. ;) Baxxy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68875 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110089 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Baxxy wrote: > Sounds very good. Can you please explain how can i do that? Take winSCP, SSH into your Touch and go to the following path: /usr/share/jive/applets Select the folder "ScreenSwitcher" and copy it to your PC. Close the connection. SSH into your PicorePlayer and go to: /home/tc/.jivelite/userpath/applets Copy the said folder there, close the connection. Go on your Picoreplayer to settings/piCoreplayer and save the settings (just to be shure). Reboot. On the Screen Saver-screen there should be the ScreenSwitcher settings. Set your screens and times. Go back to settings/piCoreplayer and save the settings (again, just to be shure). Reboot (to be shure). Again, SSH into your PicorePlayer and go to: /home/tc/.jivelite/userpath/settings There should be a new file "ScreenSwitcher.lua" with your settings. If not, copy this file from your Touch to the piCorePlayer. Good luck.
