When does consumer.crash event is fired?

2023-02-01 Thread Mohammad Aziz
I have a Kafka consumer in a Node.js application. I have been listening to
the consumer.crash event and trying to reconnect the consumer.

The issue that I have faced is that even if I have tried to reconnect in
the consumer.crash event, the consumer hasn't received any events after
that. Although I got successful confirmation that it has been connected.

I wanted to know when exactly the consumer.crash event is fired and is it a
good idea to reconnect the consumer in that? If not then what would be the
ideal way to deal with this?

I am using Kafka.js as the client application.

Regards,
Aziz

Thanks for reaching out.

Can you open a PR against https://github.com/apache/kafka-site updating
`powered-by.html`?

I am attaching our logo and here is a description of our usage for your

Coralogix uses Kafka Streams to power our observability platform
that ingests and analyzes up to tens of billions of messages per
day. Using Kafka Streams, we are able to decouple analytics from
indexing and storage to provide our users with the best performance,
scalability, and cost.

Re: My Question About Network Partition

2023-02-01 Thread Alex Craig
Not necessarily, depends on how your producer is configured. As an
example, if your producer were configured with acks=all and min.isr = 2
(which is a pretty typical config), then you wouldn't be able to produce
messages since the brokers would be unable to replicate the data to other
broker(s) in the ISR.
