Re: [videoblogging] Re: Real Media captioned files
Hi everyone: If he can somehow transcode it into either AVI or MPEG (SUPER would be ideal for something like this), VirtualDub has plugins that will do text (One comes built-in. The other one you have to download put into the VD folder). Once the text has been inserted, the video can be exported as an AVI. Unfortunately, it's going to mean YET MORE pixelation, but that's EXACTLY why MANY people avoid RealMedia LIKE A CANCER now (And did so back when it was basically THE ONLY GAME IN CYBERSPACE) would LOVE NOTHING MORE than the ability to do the same with MS Windows Media the TRIPE that comes with it. *Devilish Grin* I'm so glad I didn't get caught up into making videos during the Glory Days of Internet Radio in the late 1990s thru mid-2001 I don't even wanna imagine what they'd look like NOW. :D *LOL!* Just my $.02 worth. [videoblogging] Adding iPhone 3GP Versions
Hi everyone: After some careful thought consideration, I have decided that it is time to include other formats which are now becoming more standardized as far as the Defacto configuration is concerned. Those formats being the Apple iPhone 3GP for cell phones and other portable devices. I will start with my weight loss video podcast since I have THREE new videos (One has already been uploaded to BlipTV). That said however, I also realize that the nature of RSS 2.0 simply is incapable of supporting more than one enclosure Blogger's own RSS 2.0 feed (At least in all likelihood) wouldn't even see the enclosure because the files aren't on Blogger's own servers (I seemingly recall many of you complaining about that). Add that to the fact that I want to have a better (And CUSTOMIZABLE) root page so it doesn't look so generic like the BlipTV pages do, I have decided that, in keeping with what I have done with my political podcast thus far, to use PodBean as the primary host for BOTH audio video BlipTV as the backup host for video. Now could I get multiple accounts on BlipTV? Sure. But why do that when BlipTV lists every single file on ONE page (Which GOES AGAINST how RSS 2.0 is supposed to work because RSS 2.0 can't handle more than one enclosed file). Add to the fact that my content isn't of a vital or sensitive nature as is the case with some people, I can use just about any common format out there. Anyhow, even though you may see the Quicktime Player skin for the actual screen capture on my Blogger page (I may even decide to change that to a more universal player like GOM Player), but unlike the past, I **WILL NOT** link wrap any of the videos around the screen capture itself. Instead, visitors to to the Blogger page will see text links to the posts on PodBean where they can download the file manually if they so wish to download the file that way. RSS subscription options will, of course, be in the side panel as it would be with any podcast. Anyway, that's the latest news from here. Cya! Shot in the dark, but I've been sort of keeping tabs on The Rest of Everest. http://restofeverest.com/the-film.html Lots of material on their video podcast. You get a really good sense of who the people are, their interests, the economics, the day to day, their backgrounds, etc, etc. Then again, maybe not your cup of tea at all. -Mike mmeiser.com/blog flickr.com/photos/mmeiser2/ On Sun, Mar 1, 2009 at 3:39 AM, Pat Cook patsbl...@live.com wrote: Hi everyone: Have you taken a look at the lonelygirl15 series on YouTube? [videoblogging] Transparent Video Player
I've come across the Transparent Video player on a few websites. It's where the player is invisible and a person looks like they are standing or appearing on your page. Some call it a Video Spokesperson. Josh Anderson has a player and demo here: http://transparentplayer.com/ Are their any wordpress plugins to create this effect? I guess you could use Izzy's white background tutorial (http://xrl.in/) and end up with something very dramatic - at least that's my game plan. Any sources, tutorials or how to's on creating this effect and player? Can it be used with Blip.tv hosted content? Is it worthwhile buying into the player or tutorials? So I bought the HD100 (long story, that) and I've got all this footage and I've been editing in iMovie '09 (which, incidentally, I hate so far)and I've got these finished several projects and I realized that I'd been working with the same export setting forever, and now I'm going to have to change them. Or, at least, I assume I do. AT any rate, this computer is new and I don't know what settings I had on the old one anyway. Can anyone point me in the direction of some keen export settings for this damn thing? Other wise, it's going back to WalMart. I'd really, really appreciate it. Thanks, Bek

Re: [videoblogging] Transparent Video Player
Hi everyone: As your average, ordinary end user, I see SEVERAL problems with this player. 1). SECURITY ISSUES 2). Just like popups flashy ads, people WILL NOT put up with this player auto-scrolling their web browser PERIOD (Mainly for the reason above) will do just about ANYTHING to GET RID or BLOCK it (Some IE-based clones already come with the ability to block Flash, which is what this player depends on) 3). I personally LOATHE websites that auto-start an audio or video clip AS WELL AS sites that some person (Be they an actual person or animated character) auto-starting themselves to play their messages. As such **I WILL GET OFF THAT SITE IMMEDIATELY** 4). If employed on the wrong websites, this kind of thing can lead to leaving things such as cookies and other trojans OR WORSE (Especially when it comes to IE). Hence my top concern above. Bottom line - If you ask me, this player has NO FUTURE WHATSOEVER as there's just no conceivably positive use for it IMO.
