Re: An interesting delimma with my phone
I have a 16G 4S, and I find it runs just fine. I did get an iPhone 5 from my employer recently, and I will say, that it is snappier than my 4S. It's gotten me thinking about what I may be missing with the newer iPhones and wondering if I should get a new phone now or wait and see how IOS 9 behaves on my 4S. As for the 4S, even iOS 9 will be supported and I doubt your issues are related to compatibility problems. To me it sounds like iOS 9 in the end may even run better on a 4S than 8.x is since Apple is doing a lot to streamline iOS and many apps will have versions which are optimized for specific phones although you won't have to select this manually, it will automatically happen. The 4S is almost 4 years old so I don't say upgrading would be a bad thing and in fact I think you would enjoy the speed, improved battery life and features of a new phone, but as long as your 4S has no major hardware issues it should still work fine. Patti, You need to go into the app switcher to shut them down. From the Home screen, tap the Home button twice, and then a three-finger swipe up on all the apps should close them. I certainly have to close some of mine quite often to keep things clear enough when using a 4S. An interesting delimma with my phone
I was wondering if anybody had this problem, I think I know what may be going on but not sure. I have a 4s, and when I open an app, the majority of the time it will close on me. No matter what app it is. I am connected to wifi, and nothing else is going on with that end of things, such as tv, internet, etc; I have a braille display hooked up to the phone so bluetooth is activated. I am just wondering if first of all my phone is beginning not to support anything because it is a 4s; (it will not allow me to upgrade to the 8.4); also wonder if I need to remove some apps, would that solve the problem. This does not happen with my ipad, by the way. And the phone is charged. So, do you all a gree with me that it may be time to get a new phone, I can't say I want to, I don't like the changing things over process, getting ringtones back on it, etc; but I am just thinking the phone has seen its better days. And the funny thing is I don't use it that much, not like a lot of people do. Patti -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list. Re: An interesting delimma with my phone
My 4S upgraded fine, but I do have plenty of space on the 64G model. Yes, it's a little slow now and occasionally crashes out where it didn't used to. If you can get a new phone and want to, go ahead, I say. However, note that the footprint of the iOS9 is supposed to be much smaller (take up less memory) and it may be that it will work better on the 4S. I'm not rushing to get another tikll I see what happens with iOS9 and also the introduction of (hopefully) new gear in September/October. Hope this might help.
