You mean hold down the Power Button for 12 seconds. I can't see anything, as an old lady told me back when I was young, she said about herself, "I couldn't see the moon if it was on the end of my nose." -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of l.d.ethie...@gmail.com Sent: Sunday, May 3, 2020 7:22 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Phone not responding to two-finger double-tap with incoming call. Re: Phone not responding to two-finger double-tap with incoming call.
Sieghard, It is good to know how to do this reset on a modern phone, for a while, people didn't know how to do it. But people should pay attention when you say not to hold the power button too long, in that if you do, it goes into recovery mode, the only way to get it out is to connect it to a computer running iTunes. If I had a modern phone and computer running modern iTunes, I would have put it into recovery mode on purpose one time just to see how long is too long, and how hard it is to get my device out of recovery mode. If you have done it on purpose, let us know the answers to how long and how hard. Thanks for any information. RE: Phone not responding to two-finger double-tap with incoming call.
Hi Anna, OK, I never paid attention since I only press Volume up and Volume down if I want to force a reset. There maybe fewer controls on that screen, but whenever I press and hold the power button, after a few seconds Voiceover says "Power off" and that is the button which has focus so all I do is double tap and the phone powers down. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Anna Dresner Sent: Saturday, May 2, 2020 7:31 PM To: VIPhone Mailing List Subject: Re: Phone not responding to two-finger double-tap with incoming call. Hi Sieghard, If you press Volume Up, then Volume Down, and only hold the Power button for a couple of seconds, a simple screen with a Power Off button opens. I use this method to shut down all the time, and I think the result is exactly like the method you describe except the Power Off screen has fewer controls on it. If you hold the Power button for 10 seconds or so, a reset happens.
