Hi,
Confirm that SMS messaging is on, by going to settings & swiping down to
messages. If your brother has been able to send messages to the people he is
now having trouble sending messages to...Have him open the messages app, find
the conversation thread for his friend, check to see within the thread, if
either your brother or his friend used an email or another phone number
associated with either contact. If either has used an associated contact email
or phone number, have your brother to just to delete those messages or delete
the entire conversation thread. I suggest the above, because I was able to send
my partner, who has a Samsung phone messages. My partner was using his iPad one
day & sent me several links, sent using his icloud email, which is associated
with his contact info in my phone. After receiving the links, I was unable to
send my partner any more messages. After deleting the email used within the
conversation thread, I’m now able to send my partner text messages. The same
thing recently happened with a friend, who has a Samsung phone & he called from
his work number, which is associated with his contact info. Both numbers were
in the same message thread. Apparently, Apple doesn’t support multiple contact
means within a single text message conversation thread.
