It's a known bug that has yet to be fix by Appple. Some of us deal with it, but
others are unaffected. It's supremely annoying. I usually have to restart my
phone once a day. The restart helps, but only for a while. Sometimes, the rest

RE: not being notified of all text messages

2023-10-24 Thread Christopher Chaltain
Actually I cannot. I can't toggle from speed to tone, which I never do, which
is why I didn't notice it, but I still should have checked myself. I can adjust
the speed though, which is more important to me. This is with the commercial
release of the app. I'll check later when I get IOS 17.1 installed to see if
anything changes.

Hello Christopher,

The issue is with the beta.

So, in the latest version of iOS 17, are you saying that you can toggle between
the playback speed and the playback tone, with no problem in the latest
commercial release of the BARD app?

Is the serious bug you mention in the BARD Mobile App in the released ersion
of the app or the beta? I've seen it reported on the beta list. I left the beta
a while ago because of the issue where you can't pause the reading with the
Shokz headphones, and I haven't seen this issue with the released version of
the app myself.

Hello,

Okay, I was going to update to iOS 17.1 when released but after hearing about
the text notification bug, I am sticking with iOS 16.7 until someone on this
list can confirm that this particular bug has been squashed.

Not only if the notification bug at issue but there is a serious bug with the
BARD app in iOS 17 concerning playback speed and tone control. Since I use the
BARD mobile app on a daily basis and given that I have not yet taken the plunge
in iOS 17, I'll just hold off for now.

So, after 17.1 is released, all feedback on what, if any, issues have been
resolved will be greatly appreciated.

Mark

I am running iOS 17.03 on an iPhone XR. For some text messages, I hear my text
tone and the message. For other messages, I don’t even hear the tone and the
only way I know about them is if I go into the messages app. There does not
seem to be any pattern of which messages I get notified about and which ones I
don’t. I do not have any focus on and Do Not Disturb is not on either. Why
would this be happening?

Re: not being notified of all text messages

2023-10-22 Thread Robin Frost

Hi,

Sadly I haven't a solution but I can confirm that I've experienced this
also and you're right it's positively maddening and there seems to be no
rhyme, reason or pattern of causality to it.

I know that doesn't help and I'm sorry but you're not the only one.

Take good care,

Robin

I am running iOS 17.03 on an iPhone XR. For some text messages, I hear my text
tone and the message. For other messages, I don’t even hear the tone and the
only way I know about them is if I go into the messages app. There does not
seem to be any pattern of which messages I get notified about and which ones I
don’t. I do not have any focus on and Do Not Disturb is not on either. Why
would this be happening?
