Hello Eugene, When the Junk emails appears in your Inbox, select them, then click Junk in the Toolbar, or choose Message Mark As Junk Mail. Re: Spam bombardment
I think it's *your* email address, not Westnet per se. I don't actually use my old IT email address but it's still running so I can pick up the odd stragglers who haven't got my Westnet email address yet. The old IT address started getting massive amounts of spam before I changed to Westnet is now getting 60 or more spam emails a day (including the CNN one). My Westnet email address so far gets NO spam at all, I haven't paid for their spam filtering service. BarbZ On 12 Aug 2008, at 1:21 PM, Paul Weaver wrote: Well I'm sort of happy that it's not only me that's been picked on. However it does seem that Westnet clients are more vulnerable to these spammers because the ISP charges $30 a year extra to include spam filtering. I've been with Westnet for a few years, but maybe it's time to start shopping around for better service. Any suggestions? Re: iPhones and Westnet
Speaking of iPhones ... I picked my new iPhone up yesterday straight after Steven K (only took about 10min Steve) and manage to get a round of golf in as well ... Set up went well, iinet account and mobileme. One small problem ... there is no app store icon to be seen anywhere. There a 2 home screens and it isn't on either of them. Should it be there from the start or do I have to get something from the app store ( via itunes) . I am not overly concerned at its absence as most of the apps I get I would load them through itunes, but if it is meant to be there I would like to why it isn't Peter On 12/08/2008, at 5:24 PM, Malcolm Burtenshaw wrote: Speaking of Westnet... Re: g5 iMac Sporadically closing down?
Hi all, Hoping someone out there might point me somewhere useful :-) I have a 3 yr old 1.8 mhz g5 iMac (Just out of Applecare naturally.) Over the last few weeks, the machine has been working fine except that once every couple of days it makes a small pop and closes down For about a minute, pressing the power button just makes it come on then off again. Shortly thereafter, she powers up but (what sounds like) the fan makes a lot of noise for about 30 seconds CPU temperature is 75% - that sounds OK, yes? Anyway, today the machine did it twice in the space of 15 minutes.starting to get a little nervous here... ;-) Strangely though, I thought it might have something to do with the power supply, so was wiggling that while it was dead and the machine turned itself on.. I know...confusing eh? Can anyone offer any advice beyond 'back up everything and brace your wallet'? cheers Stewart -- The WA Macintosh User Group Mailing List -- Archives - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/archives.shtml Guidelines - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/guidelines.shtml Unsubscribe - mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] The G5 iMacs have had problems with both failed power supplies and logic boards, in many cases caused by poorly manufactured capacitors that were used by the various assembly factories at that time (ie many brands affected, not just Apple products). The rate of deterioration of the capacitors seems heat related, so if your imac had not been used much, or always in a cool environment, it may have taken longer for the problem to reveal itself. Of course excessive heat itself will cause a damage prevention shutdown. Is the interior of the computer choked with dust fibres, so that no effective air cooling is taking place?
