Hello Peter, WAMUG Committee, WAMUG Members, I'm very concerned about this Advertising email. Is Craig Bruce (or MaxStyle) a Corporate Sponsor of WAMUG? I understand Corporate Sponsors of WAMUG pay $200 per year to advertise on WAMUG Mailing list. If he is not a Corporate Sponsor of WAMUG, this email is totally unacceptable! Why do our Corporate Sponsors have to pay $200 per year and play by the rules when anyone can post an Advertising email to the group? This is another way of spamming WAMUG. Hi Ronda I have to agree with you, It's not a good start by a new company to do this sort of thing, the least they could have done was invest a little money and become a corporate sponsor. Re: MaxStyle Opens South Perth Retail Store! (10% off all stock opening day sat 6th)
Hi all and welcome to the list Craig(!!). As a past president and committee member of WAMUG for many years in the early days, I'd just like to encourage everyone to take a deep breath and relax. :-) Craig has made an honest mistake, apologised and has offered to join up as a corporate member so I reckon we should welcome MaxStyle to the Perth Mac community with enthusiasm and thank Craig for his interest in the group. I don't think I'm alone in welcoming more options for Mac retail outlets south of the River and hope that MaxStyle along with all of our other corporate members will thrive on the steadily growing interest in all things Apple here in Perth. I don't know about anyone else, but I am quite happy to hear of the sale tomorrow and will probably pop by at some stage to see what the newest addition to the Apple scene here in Perth looks like. ciao -Mart Martin Hill email: mart_hill at mac.com homepages: http://web.mac.com/mart_hill Mb: 0401-103-194 hm: (08)9314-5242 On 05/06/2009, at 9:12 AM, Neil Houghton wrote: Hi Craig, As you have found out WAMUG really are passionate about all things mac ;) Hey Guys, Since Craig: - is new to the list - was informing us about a specific event (happening very soon) - has apologised several times - has said that he is quite happy to pay to be a corporate sponsor Why don't we cut him a little slack and just give him more details about how corporate sponsorship works. Latest mybusiness email - facts and the other stuff
I am on the email list from MyBusiness magazine. Got this pearl in their latest blast: ..(BrandQuest, Jason Eisner) ... According to Eisner pricing must be set in conjunction, and be consistent, with your marketing strategy. He uses the example of an Apple computer versus a PC. Whereas people expect/demand a discount when buying a PC, they do not when purchasing a Mac despite the fact that Apple computers retail for at least $1000 to $1500 more than a comparable PC. ... At least $1000 to $1500 more? Fact? A friend almost fell over recently when he discovered that not only was the visible part of my 24 iMac the only part, but that it cost only $2,500 - he had thought it would be 'really expensive'. He promptly bought one for himself and now sings the praises of Mac.
