NikonView 5 OS X.2

2002-08-26 Thread Stefan Gosatti
Hello

Is anyone else running NikonView 5 (v5.1.1) with OS X.2? NikonView, on my
Powerbook G4/667, is not automatically recognising my camera when connected
any longer, either via CF PCMCIA card of USB cable. I have checked the
preferences of NikonView and all is ok and I have deactivated iPhoto's auto
start/load.

I'm trying to establish whether it's particular to my setup/installation or
if it's a recognised problem. I did a complete clean installation of OS
X.2 and subsequently have re-installed all of my software including
NikonView. I have searched the web without luck.

Feedback appreciated.

Try opening the 'Image Capture' application and set its preferences
so that it opens NikonView when a camera is connected.

Have fun,

Thanks Shay

That did initiate the startup of NikonView, thank you. However, I still
can't get the transfer to activate. In fact, it won't allow me even to do
it manually (cmd T), it's greyed out. I have re-check the pref's of
NikonView again, all appears to be correct. What else am I missing?

Does Apple System Profiler recognise the camera when it's plugged in?

Also, does that version of NikonView specify that it's meant to work
with OS X 10.2? You may have to wait for an update.

The answer to both questions is no.

While the camera is recognised by the computer (eg: the CF card shows up in
the finder), Apple System Profiler does not show it connected to the USB
port, as it should. The images are there, as Nikon images, if I open the CF
Card icon. Again, the only problem now is that they will not automatically
upload via NikonView 5, as they did with OS X.1.5

Secondly, can't find anywhere where it says NikonView 5 supports X.2. At
this stage, I think not.

Thanks

Stefan
