 Dear Prof. Peter Blaha,

 Thank you for your help.

And I have one more question.

 I downlaoded Wien2k Ver. 11.
 I expanded .tar files.
I could not find the executable files of Ver. 11 but Ver. 10.

Can I think this files are Ver. 11 ?

 Sincerely,

Dear Prof. Perer Blaha,

I have a question about PassWord of w2web.
I put username and password into two blanks.
These username and password is same as those used when I downloaded a new
version Wien2k.
But I cannot start Wien2k session on w2web.

The number of computers installed Wien2k per one licenece is limited ?

Sincerely,
Masaichiro Mizumaki

[Wien] PassWord

2011-05-14 Thread Rocquefelte
Dear Masaichiro Mizumaki,

The w2web password is not related to the password you obtained to
download WIEN2k.
When you start your w2web interface (typing w2web on your UNIX machine)
the utility ask a username and password, that will be required to
connect to to the w2web server.
So, you have to choose a username and a password that will be required
when you will use the w2web interface.

For more details, see page 14 of the Userguide.

Xavier

Please try to run the Fe example and follow the instructions in the UG as

[Wien] password problem cont'd

2009-10-21 Thread John Rundgren
Dear all,
Thanks for hints. Today's situation:
user is jru, localhost is "penelope" in lower case letters.
passwd has only letters and numbers (w2web doesn't like point, slash, ...).
reboot is done, directory .w2web is emptied.
w2web installs itself (the same passwd is used for jru and penelope to avoid
ambiguity).

w2web runSCF doesn't work, the above passwd is not accepted, see Attachment 1.

run_lapw -p -I -i 30 -cc 0.0001 doesn't work, passwd not accepted, see
Attachment 2.

ssh -fNL 2000:w2web_host:7890 user at penelope doesn't work, passwd not
accepted.

What does the following diagnosis mean (Attachments)?
fixerror_lapw lapw1_1

Grateful for help sorting out the situation. WIEN2k worked without passwd
earlier.
Best regards,
John

Step by step. You almost certainly need to establish ssh without need
for a password first. Do "man ssh" and scroll to the section on
AUTHENTICATION where it tells you what needs to be done. (It is wisest
to do this on your computer so you see the appropriate information,
although this rarely changes.)

[Wien] password problem

2009-10-20 Thread John Rundgren
Dear all,
I can no longer make "runSCF" because of a password problem. The reason may be
that my Ubuntu has been automatically updated to include some extra security.
Therefore, I consult User's Guide 11.3.1 about firewalls.

I use a single PC. The terminal window of my home directory shows
"Penelope:~>", so I assume that "user at w2web_host" is equal to "user at
Penelope".

When stating
ssh -fNL 2000:w2web_host:7890 user at Penelope
the answer is
user at penelope's password: (Here, penelope is written instead of Penelope.
A significant difference?)

When using Penelope's password, I'm thrown out:
Permission denied (password,publickey).

[Penelope' password has the form "abcd.efg", and w2web's password in Penelope
is chosen "abcdefg", because w2web doesn't accept the point. None of these
passwords works.]

Help is greatly appreciated. I shouldn't like that my WIEN2k career is finished.
Best,
John

[Wien] password problem

2009-10-20 Thread Laurence Marks
One comment: capital letters in computer/user names create chaos, the
unix philosophy is to ALWAYS use lower case for these. You may be able
to get around this by using the IP number (instead of Penelope),
localhost or 127.0.0.1. However, other things in the OS may be broken
and it is probably safest in the long term to change the computer
name.
