CHANGES TO TASK DESCRIPTIONRight now WDQS code (especially Updater) uses Date to store timestamps, which is sub-optimal for many reasons. There is a better option: [[ https://docs.oracle.com/javase/8/docs/api/java/time/Instant.html | Instant class ]]. applicable in many cases. We should migrate our code to it. 

Note this does not apply to internal representation of dates in WDQS database, We should migrate our code to itonly representing actual timestamps. I think now it's deployed...but somehow the language json files for some langs it's not acciessbale(return 404), For example:

And I found the cause it's actually in the build process,  where the plugin rename the langauge file name... Two proof-of-concept patches uploaded. Intentionally simplified etc. Not meant to be merged in any way.

https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/406608 moves out the "logic" on how the lexeme is to be displayed (i.e. which data of it to use etc) to a service. It could then be used in other places, e.g. in non-HTML formatters, but possibly in other places too. After some various changes, current mode for Wikikidata 'Mainpage' is "single page for any languages" (with automated substitution translated version related with UI language).

Are you sure this is the current mode for all languages? I found MediaWiki:Mainpage/is, at least, which currently contains “Wikidata:Forsíða/is”, and Wikidata:Forsíða/is is a separate page, not a redirect.

I think the safer approach would be to first go through a search for prefix:MediaWiki/mainpage and delete each page mentioned there after verifying that the page given by the message content is only a redirect to the main page, so that the message will fall back to the generic version. Premise: the primary sources tool back end is being implemented as a Wikidata query service module.

After some digging, I found that the Wikidata query service uses an old version (4.4) of the Apache HTTP client, which made the primary sources tool hit this bug:

The nginx upstream and keepalive directives are a workaround for the bug.

Version 4.4.1 fixed the bug:

Okay, on wikidatawiki, mainpage is part of $wgForceUIMsgAsContentMsg and is therefore always used in the user language. Mystery solved.

I don’t see any easy way to fix this. (I wasn’t aware of it before, but we do have some localized versions of the main page that don’t just redirect to the main main page, so mainpage has to stay a force-user-language message for now.) Ah, I see. The main page title is taken from the mainpage message (https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Mainpage), falling back to 'Main page' if that doesn’t work.

Hm, it seems like the behaviour only activates if you double-click somewhere in the results and then try to copy some of the content. Hm, I can’t actually completely reproduce this. If I run the query and then immediately select some text from the results, then there is no selected cell, and our custom selection code doesn’t happen, so the normal copying works. And if I first select some cell by clicking on it, and then select some text and type Ctrl+C, then the full text of the cell is copied, which isn’t ideal, but also doesn’t quite match the described bug.
