[X2Go-Dev] vmlinuz, initrd and squashfs for netboot.xyz

2021-09-28 Thread x2go-dev
Hello together,

after last messages on x2go-user mailing list I plan to try to integrate
live-build-x2go into https://netboot.xyz/
I need place where we can place kernel, initrd and squashfs ~200M , so that it
should not run to timeouts on another side of the earth. Maybe it's
rational to make extra subdomain for it like boot.x2go.org and maybe
mirror it to CDN. What do you think about it? Where would be the best
hosting place for it?

As a benefit x2go-users can use linux x2goclient if a main system is not
running (or just for tests), but they have internet access and can boot floppy,
cd, usb or just
bootloader entry with netboot.xyz.lkrn (ipxe) or maybe netboot setup
with tftp onside. On very modern systems it can be UEFI entry for
httpboot.

Best Regards,
Juri Grabowski

Re: [X2Go-Dev] X2Go Client Nightly builds for debian bullseye

Hello Mike and Alex

@Alex: Can you please add licence files to original project?

 * package x2gowswrapper, x2gowebrpc and x2gohtmlclient (not fully done, yet)

As I seen, that Oleksandr has created this packages, I wanted to try it
out and was beginning to packaging this for debian:
https://salsa.debian.org/debian-remote-team/x2gohtmlclient
https://salsa.debian.org/debian-remote-team/x2gowebrpc
https://salsa.debian.org/debian-remote-team/x2gowswrapper

Right now is unclear which license is used 8)
A little bit sloppy packages are available under:
https://debian-remote-team.pages.debian.net/-/x2gohtmlclient/-/jobs/1688304/artifacts/aptly/index.html
https://debian-remote-team.pages.debian.net/-/x2gowebrpc/-/jobs/1688292/artifacts/aptly/index.html
https://debian-remote-team.pages.debian.net/-/x2gowswrapper/-/jobs/1688252/artifacts/aptly/index.html

It's not tested right now.

Nothing official. I did package the stable client in the past, though:
<https://github.com/bauritcs/opsi-bauritcs/tree/master/x2goclient-bitcs>

Nice, but it's opensource and maybe we can make official opsi repo for
it with *.opsi packages.
Maybe it's a good idea to make it official, like bareos people did it?
http://download.bareos.org/bareos/release/latest/windows/opsi/

Some older (4.1.2.0) opsi x2go binaries are in
https://o4i.imbi.uni-freiburg.de/public/
repo too.

Re: [X2Go-Dev] Code formatting

2020-05-25 Thread x2go-dev

Hello together,

I see this discussion here and think about KISS principle. gitlab is
really huge software with a lot of dependencies and it need really time to
maintain it.
For gitolite3 just need install it with apt-get install gitolite3 and
configure it for all your needs with very flexible hooks possibility
(trigger), VREFs, wild repos, mirroring ...
https://gitolite.com/gitolite/cookbook.html
https://gitolite.com/gitolite/vref.html
https://gitolite.com/gitolite/vref-2.html
https://gitolite.com/gitolite/wild.html

I would prefer gitolite at this point with patches on mailing list and/or
wild repos for every new member with pull-master branch like
https://git.kernel.org/

Hello Mike,

I'd rather suggest merging more of the official x2goclient DEB into

thanks for you suggestion. After reverting my changes from Mihai, I rebased my
changes and pushed it to feature/focal-ppa remote branch. Maybe can someone
merge it to master branch and maybe make new release, because some people would
like to use new x2goclient in ubuntu 20.04 from official x2go stable ppa.
I think your patch (with Qt5 preferred) is a good starting point, but
the official DEB has more assets to port over.

I have changed Makefile for checking if qmake-qt4 is available in PATH,
then use it and lrelease-qt4, if not, then use qmake and lrelease.

Here are succesfully builds for focal and groovy:
https://code.launchpad.net/~gratuxri/+recipe/x2go-daily

It's any reasons for using Bazaar in x2go on launchpad or I can migrate
recipes for using git? With git we can use format 0.4 with revtime, so
that we would have fewer upload conflicts on launchpad.

Juri Grabowski

x2goclient not building on launchpad for ubuntu focal 20.04

possible solution:
Change debian/control like in patch attached
