I have an /etc/amanda/foo/amanda.conf which starts with: define holdingdisk "external_holding" { directory "/media/amanda_holdingdisk" } ...it seems it should be just holdingdisk "name" { that works with amcheck, etal. (I've emailed jds@ about the error in the man page for amanda.conf .) -

I suspect you're looking a the newest manpages. The 2.6.1 manpages are correct for that version: http://wiki.zmanda.com/man/2.6.1/amanda.conf.5.html#id538874 yeup. I got zinged by the recent release of 3.1, combined with my older bookmark to the "current" manpages... doh :)
