What player do you have? 700kbps looks like 24/48 downsampled from 24/192. IMHO red-book standard CD 16/44.1 streams at less than 500kbps. -- amcluesent amcluesent's Profile:

This is all wrong. You can ignore the displayed bitrate number - it's just a meaningless guess. By default, SBS downsamples (via SOX) 24/192 to 24/96 for the TP/Touch (and 176.4 goes down to 88.2). The REM album you mention sounds WAY better on DVD-A than the regular CD. In fact all of the REM
