Rua do Vigario runs north/south and is to the right of the red marker.

living in Rua do Vigario. I believe "Rua" menas street.

Liz: If you have access to Ancestry.com you may be able to find the same
people in their 1900 Census. Perhaps that will give the street, and if
not, you can search forward or back until the street is identified. Worth
a try, though I have found cases where the streets are never listed.

stuff come up & I don't think I ever got back to you on this. I am
interested in the information you have about the Correia family. Since
posting this, I have located the great granddaughter of Maria Madelena

Aloha,
Does anyone know which type of records would include addresses / house
numbers etc. I'm talking about older records 1800 -1900? I already have the
church but would love to get something more. I was wondering if I could be
lucky enough to try and locate some connection to my family from
Jeffrey,
Interesting site to peruse but there is nothing to compare with being able
to see the whole map in front of you. I really did get a great bargain
looking at what they charge for the map!
Think I will check out what other maps this site might have as I am
interested in a Boston map
That is a great deal from the Whaling Museum Gift shop for $10. The same
map is available at the Boston Public Library Norman B Leventhal Map Center
for $50.
Although at the BPL center, you can download it free as a smaller version.
Also at the BPL is that you can view it with its magnification
I just wanted to tell you all that Cheryl had them put this Map on the New
Bedford Whaling Museum store website. If you have any family from New
Bedford, you will appreciate this map. It is 24 x 36 so easy to read
streets, etc. The cost was only $10...the shipping a little higher but I
