Indeed I do several imports per day, adding references along my
readings. I also have "Added J-0" and "Added J-1" groups!
Since you share my experience, do you think this feature would be relevant?

Thanks, Adam. After I updated Bibdesk using the link you provided
(http://bibdesk.demokratia.org/beta) everything worked fine. I can
now see the citations in addition to the group counts on the left pane!
I have a question though. I only download new versions of Bibdesk
when prompted by B
This cannot be solved. The completion list should be visually linked
to the item you're completing.
