Hi all,
Apparently while watching this bird at Rondeau, I didn't clue in to a couple
important features for KIEI, which inherently I should have.
It appears it is just a young male Surf Scoter although the most rattiest,
mottled looking bird I have ever seen.

Jack Alvo and I observed the Lark Sparrow at around 3:20. It was foraging in
the grasses in frint of the fence, just off the footpath. The are a couple of
trailers on the other side of the fence. It was finding lots of food.
Also had a Mockingbird.

Further to the post below, the bird is back in the area. Lynne Freeman and I
saw it around 3:15 today. While walking on the road on the north side of the
railbed and checking the fence line, suddenly we saw it on the road itself just

(Brereton Field Naturalists Club) met at Dock Road Park in Barrie, Ontario
on a waterfront field trip on Kempenfeldt Bay. It was a grey and blustery

The WESTERN SANDPIPER continues at Blenheim Sewage Lagoons. Today I saw it
at the middle pond on your right going in, where there is a bit of open
water. It was in company with only 5 Dunlin today. 15 Dunlin were present
yesterday! Th
From about 1400 to 1450 I observed the bird where previously reported (gravel
path north of Lakeshore east of Donway).
At 1450 a truck drove down alongside the building and spooked the bird. it flew
east down the path (for those observing with me and fearful the flight was
strong and fast)

There is a chestnut-sided Warbler feeding just east of the ridge towards the
point at Britannia Conservation Area.

For information about ON
Both at Whirlpool. The first winter Little Gull does not have a black collar
but has a black cap. Also smaller than Bonaparte's Gulls. We're still looking
for the kittiwake.
