I can access the management GUI and shell on a 5208R but I cannot ping,
load web pages, use email or otherwise access/use any sites on this
machine. It's worked so well for so long I cannot remember much about
troubleshooting an issue like this.

If the code WASN'T open then no one would be the wiser. In this case

Some users say some regularly scheduled (every 15 minutes) emails are
not arriving. The vendor sending the emails says all is good on th

Just to mention this here: This has been sorted. Lewis and I found out
that the account of a user had been compromised and a botnet was now
sending SPAM through that account via SMTP-Auth.
I don't deserve much credit, Michael is a very good guide to sleuthing!
As an aside, How long can a pass
error messages. And sometimes, can even get
blacklisted for all those error messages.

No, this sure isn't normal a

Unfortunately, in the meantime - your server is kept busy sending out
ridiculous numbers of error messages. And sometimes, can even get
blacklisted for all those error messages.

Like I said, this worked before on a different subnet. We just had to
change IPs for a faster connection. There is no DMZ, just the main
network's router on one IP, the 5209R on another and some wireless
access points on another two.
Hmm ... it could be that port 25 is blocked from the outside

When you configure a vsite in Blue Onyx you have to specify a hostname.
I usually use www. Increasingly users don't want to prepend the www to a
domain name.
I use Namecheap basic DNS and have the hosts @ and * so "naked" domains
resolve to the Blue Onyx server's IP address. Sometimes this w

My recent posts had to do with Dfix restarting Dovecot with annoying
regularity. Uninstalling Dfix (from the free package) and replacing it
with Dfix2 solved the problem.
You can check admin's emails and if you see emails like this you likely

I finally figured out the Authentication failed problem I was having. At
one point I was having problems with a neighbor kid getting in the house
and I set the alarm panel to send me an email
I'm fairly sure I have done this before but I can't find my notes and
the FAQ (www.blueonyx.it/index.php?page=cmu-migrations) appears to not
address this. It appears that something may be wrong with gmane.org. I
can't search there.
I have 6 vsites to migrate. The first site is used primarily
OGINS. I'd suggest clicking the "Reset all
blocks" button, and see if mail starts again.

and reclicked those three and saved. No joy.
About two hours later email resumed without further action on my part.

Turned out to be a rule in the 7x.1x2.59.64/28 router blocking port 25
except to the old subnet. It was there because of spam bots on
non-compliant user's computers.
