My neighbor who lives a few houses south reported that at about 9:30 am today
she saw a WHITE PELICAN flying north over Cayuga Lake.
She noticed the black trailing edges on the wings and the long yellow bill on
the large white bird.
Said she couldn't believe her eyes, but it was a pelican!
Too ba
Fisherman on a boat spooked it and it flew south. Searched of central and
southern Park of lake and not refound. Not sure where it goes!!

cormorant because when the cormorant dives, it stirs up the fish to the top of

White Pelican is feeding now, by sticking bill sideways in water & catching
something, which it swallows now & then.

dike , but didn't need to go that far. There are two islands of vegetation.

The WHITE PELICAN was seen at Knox Marcellus along with a male EURASIAN WIGEON.
There was a WILSON'S PHALAROPE, also, seen by Wade and Melissa Rowley. The
LITTLE BLUE HERON flew in to roost with 45 GREAT EGRETS at 8:21 on Van Dyne
Spoor Road.

I just called the Montezuma lodge and neither Mark Miller nor Chuck Gibson
that volunteer there has any information about these birds. Larue and Jackie
were still out doing their survey so maybe more info later. Mike Tetlow
