JB is it did not know it was a new harness try cutting a few links out of the spring that might help or better yet try useing alittle heat like a soldering iron heat the spring up might make it weaker, i have always rebuilt my harnesses, so i have not had the same problems you are having ,

methods. I took two metal brackets from hell and bent out the spades, then
placed them in the sockets. I took another two metal brackets from hell
