My experience with chemical stripping was a messy one...Don't know about
anyone else but I find media blasting a much cleaner way to strip
things.John
IMO powdercoating is not all that good in regards to
holding up to color and gloss fading. Sure it is a tough, hard surface
when properly baked out but an automotive grade liquid paint would be your best
bet. I prefer 2K urethanes myself.

Great...Thanx MikeI will look. The dash is
all metal though.would baking it at such a high temp warp it to some
degree.....John
John, Powder coating is not an option as it requires oven
baking. Use a good quality urethane with a flattening agent to get a 60 percent
gloss. I use Imron,, but most good paint suppliers can give you what you need.

Anyone have an opinion of the relative merits/drawbacks of chemical
stripping vs plastic bead blasting. The time to have the paint and body
work done on mine draws near.
Thanks

dashboard of my 66...I was wondering what kind of paint to use on it...If
anybody has any suggestionsI was thinking of getting it powdercoated as
there is a shop close by that can do that for me..Or..Is there a good durable
paint out there
Nice goin' Herb. Haven't seen it yet, the cover that is, but do remember
the Elky from seeing it during PT03 in Jackson MS, New Orleans and at No
Problem Raceway. Hope to get my copy in the mail soon.
