Williamson's Sapsucker and I have uploaded the first few clips onto my
BirdsAndNature http://BirdsAndNature.blogspot.com . It is less intrusive
to use my camcorder as it makes less noise than my dslr and this very shy

The Curve-billed Thrasher has made brief appearances
at the Red Rocks Trading Post thrice today. In addition
to the 0730 sighting posted early by Cole Wild, Dick Schottler
was among a group that saw it for about a minute at 9:40 AM,
but it was not seen again until Bob Brown spotted it at
The White-throated Sparrow and Curve-billed Thrasher have each made a brief
appearance since 2pm.

Late this afternoon, Margie Joy and I were able to see two female plumage SURF
SCOTERS and one female plumage BLACK SCOTER at Pueblo Reservoir off Sailboard
launching area. I also counted 8 Common Loons from the middle part of the
reservoir east to the dam, this afternoon as well.

Several years ago I saw a Golden Eagle stoop on a feeding flock of Greater
Sandhills at the Monte Vista NWR, during the Crane Festival in March. It
came in like a rocket, struck a crane in the standing flock, landed about 20
feet away, then hopped/flew back to dispatch and consume its prey.
