I haven't looked at the Terminal Server package, but what is getting
loaded on the terminal? The reason I ask is you only want to be running
the minimum to support X on the terminal if its running XDMCP, at the
moment I assume its loading all the daemons you'd expect on a 'desktop'

The box locks solid, no response, can't drop to console, etc.
It wont respond to pings, cant ssh in, mouse wont move in X. Theres no
hard disk activity, neither caps lock nor numlock will toggle.
After 10mins the computer still does not respond.

Hi,
When I run Harddrake2 the computer locks up before it shows any of the gui.
It also hangs if I cat /proc/bus/pci/devices/00/07.3

whilst doing a hd install from the 9b1 iso's I found I could install
from the NTFS partition. The boot disk found the NTFS(v5) partitions,
but refused to install from them because it didn't recognise the filesystem.

Hi,
I've just installed a very minimal (X, icewm, no kde, no gnome) install
of beta1. I've got a opti pnp isa soundcard which uses the mad16 kernel
module.
The sound card is not setup on install (not sure if this is because I
did an expert install). When I run sndconfig, it detects the card a
Hi,
I'm having trouble getting 8.2beta4 (sorry, don't have access to a quick
enough network to get cooker yet) to work with my soundcard, an OPTI Plug
and play card.
If I use the 2.2.20 kernel, then sndconfig says it can't find any pnp
soundcards, I point it to MAD16 Pro (chipset on my card) and
whole iso's).
Can you please copy any replies to me as I'm no longer on the cooker mailing
list.
Thanks

Any other ideas? Do you want me to redirect lspcidrake to a file and see how
far it gets before hanging?
