it. But when I try to use it, the system complains about not being able to

Well there aren't any floppy images made for ppc. Stew might be able to
tell you what to do to make them. However, the real question is will

a) Fix the cdrom.
b) Make a partition on the machine put all the first stage stuff on it.
Reboot into open firmware (Cmd+Option+O+F). boot hd:X,\\:tbxi where X
is your partition numbe

problem is a non-working cd-rom. As such is the case, I am attempting to do
a network boot and install, using dhcpd and tftp. I followed the
