i just did a test install of 3.0.18
architecture: i386
flavour: reiserfs
console: serial
there are still some problems with the mounting of non-ext2 partitions
(i have a fix for that), and the /instmnt problem (i have a partial fix
for that)

I was able to boot (tftpboot.img) and mount the NFS root with no problems.
rescue.bin and drivers.tgz are downloaded from the mirror and placed in

Here's a patch which update brazilian portuguese release_notes translation
so it's now in the same state as the original (C) one.
The file updated as
boot-floppies/scripts/rootdisk/messages/pt/release_notes .
If necessary, the changelog is :

I am trying to install debian 2.2r4 onto an old compaq proliant 4500
with a Compaq Smart2/E raid array. During the install, I'm able to
insert a DOS floppy containing /boot/cpqarray.o, configure the proper
module paramater (eisa=0x5000), and complete the install up to the part
where it reboots.

hi,
i have a question/suggestion regarding modconf: if rmmod fails for a
module, then you can't even specify that you don't want the module loaded
at next bootup. so perhaps the script could ask whether you'd at least
want to remove the module from the config file or not.

When I came out of cfdisk the screen background was black, when I got
to the configure modules screen it went blue again, but on leaving that
screen was black once more.

Actually we do use latin1 (ISO8859-1), but I saw no differences activating
